Fits Domo DO204SW handheld vacuum cleaner, replacing original 4.8V Ni-MH pack.
4.8V, 1500mAh Ni-MH chemistry delivers consistent motor voltage through the cleaning cycle without sag.
Connector plugs directly into the DO204SW battery slot with positive and negative contact alignment verified.
We bench-tested this cell in the Domo charging dock — BMS accepted charge current smoothly and discharged at steady voltage under simulated motor load.
Remove this battery from the charging dock immediately after it reaches full charge; continuous dock charging degrades Ni-MH capacity faster than charge-and-disconnect cycles.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Domo DO204SW — 4.8V Ni-MH Replacement Battery

This is a 4.8V, 1500mAh Ni-MH replacement battery for the Domo DO204SW cordless handheld vacuum cleaner. It slots into the DO204SW and DO-204SW variants. When the original cell degrades and suction becomes noticeably weak before the indicator shows low, this cell restores normal motor voltage.

  • DO204SW and DO-204SW compatibility: Both model designations use the same 4.8V four-cell Ni-MH pack with the same connector and physical footprint. The motor driver circuit draws directly from this pack with no separate BMS handshake required — voltage and connector geometry are what lock this battery to these models.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this cell under repeated motor-start cycles and sustained suction load. The cell held voltage above the motor's cutoff threshold across multiple discharge cycles, and the BMS did not trip under normal operation with a clean filter installed.
  • Dock charging habit for DO204SW: Do not leave the DO204SW sitting on its charging dock continuously. Ni-MH cells in cordless vacuums develop capacity fade significantly faster under constant trickle charge. Charge to full, then remove the unit from the dock until the next use.

Cordless vacuum losing suction before the battery indicator reaches low

This is a voltage sag issue, not a capacity issue. As Ni-MH cells age, internal resistance rises. Under motor load — especially on carpet or with a partially blocked filter — voltage drops below the motor's operating threshold while the indicator circuit still reads sufficient charge. The indicator measures resting voltage, not load voltage, so it lags behind real-world performance. Replacing the cell eliminates the high internal resistance causing the sag.

Motor cutting out mid-use and recovering after a short pause

This points to a BMS overcurrent trip triggered by sustained restricted airflow. When the filter is blocked or partially clogged, the motor works harder to maintain suction and draws more current than the pack is rated for. The BMS cuts the output to protect the cell, then resets once current demand drops. Clean or replace the filter first — if the cut-outs stop, the cell is fine. If cut-outs continue with a clean filter, the cell's capacity has fallen enough that even normal draw spikes past the BMS threshold at 4.0V pack voltage.

Frequently Asked Questions

My DO204SW suction feels weak almost immediately after charging — is this the battery or a blockage?

Check the filter first. A partially blocked filter forces the motor to draw more current than rated, which causes voltage to sag faster under load even from a fully charged cell. Remove the filter, clean it, and test again. If suction is still weak from the start of a full charge cycle, the original Ni-MH cell has lost enough capacity that it can no longer sustain the motor's voltage requirement — replace the battery.

The DO204SW keeps cutting out while I'm using it but starts again if I wait a minute — what's happening?

That pattern is a BMS overcurrent trip resetting after the current demand drops. It usually means the filter is restricting airflow enough that the motor is pulling above the pack's rated current threshold. Clean the filter and run the vacuum again. If cut-outs continue on a clean filter, the cell's internal resistance has risen to the point where motor-start current spikes are tripping the BMS even under normal load — at that point the cell needs replacing.

I charged this replacement battery fully but the DO204SW seems to fade much faster than when it was new — did I get a bad cell?

Check how the vacuum is being stored between uses. Leaving the DO204SW on its charging dock continuously is the most common cause of accelerated Ni-MH capacity fade — the trickle charge damages cells faster than normal cycling does. Charge the unit to full, remove it from the dock, and store it off the charger. After two or three full discharge-and-recharge cycles off the dock, the cell's usable capacity typically stabilises closer to its rated 1500mAh.
