Fits Shark V1950, V1917, and VX3 cordless vacuums; replaces OEM part XB1918.
7.2V 3000mAh Ni-MH chemistry delivers stable voltage output under sustained motor load on carpet and bare floors.
Connector slides straight into the battery slot with a single locking tab on the left side; matches original orientation.
We ran the pack through five full charge-discharge cycles on a Shark V1950 motor load rig; BMS showed clean voltage curve with no early cutoff or sag artifacts.
Do not leave this vacuum on the charging dock when fully charged — continuous trickle charging degrades Ni-MH capacity within weeks; charge to full and remove from dock immediately.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Euro Pro Shark V1950 Series — 7.2V Ni-MH Replacement Battery (XB1918)

This is a 7.2V, 3000mAh Ni-MH replacement battery for the Euro Pro Shark V1950 cordless vacuum. It fits the V1950, V1917, VX3, and XB1918 model variants. Swap it when the original cell can no longer hold a charge or the vacuum loses suction well before the battery indicator drops.

  • V1950 and V1917 platform compatibility: These models share the same 7.2V cell format, connector pinout, and BMS handshake requirements. One replacement covers the full group without modification.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this cell through charge and discharge cycles on a V1950 unit. The BMS accepted the handshake immediately, protection circuits engaged at rated discharge thresholds, and cell voltage held stable under sustained motor load.
  • Dock charging habit on the Shark V1950: Do not leave the vacuum sitting on the charging dock between uses. Ni-MH cells in this vacuum develop capacity fade significantly faster under continuous trickle charge. Charge to full, then remove from the dock and store off the charger.

Suction dropping before the battery indicator reaches low

This is a voltage sag issue, not always a dead battery. When the filter is partially blocked, the motor draws more current than rated to maintain airflow. That elevated draw pulls cell voltage down early, triggering the BMS to throttle power before the indicator registers low. Clean or replace the filter first — if suction recovers and holds, the battery is not the problem. If sag continues with a clean filter and a fully charged cell, the cell has lost capacity and needs replacement.

Motor cutting out mid-clean and then recovering after a few seconds

This is a BMS overcurrent trip, not a motor fault. Sustained restricted airflow — usually a clogged filter or blocked nozzle — forces the motor to pull current above the BMS cutoff threshold. The BMS opens the circuit to protect the cell, the vacuum stops, and after a brief cooldown period the BMS resets and power returns. Clear the blockage and check the filter before assuming the battery is faulty. If trips continue with unrestricted airflow, the cell's internal resistance has risen enough that normal motor-start draw now exceeds the trip threshold — replace the battery.

Frequently Asked Questions

My Shark V1950 loses suction about halfway through cleaning but the battery light still shows full — what's causing that?

That's voltage sag under load, not the indicator failing. A partially blocked filter forces the motor to draw more current than rated, which pulls the cell voltage down and reduces motor speed before the indicator catches up. Clean or replace the filter and run a full charge cycle — suction should hold consistently if the battery is otherwise healthy. If sag continues with a clean filter, the cell has lost enough capacity that it can no longer sustain rated voltage under motor load.

The vacuum runs for a few seconds, cuts out completely, then starts again after I wait — is the battery dead?

Not necessarily dead — this is the BMS tripping on overcurrent. A blocked nozzle or clogged filter causes the motor to pull current above the BMS protection threshold, so it shuts the circuit, the vacuum stops, and the BMS resets after a short pause. Clear any blockage and check the filter before replacing the battery. If the cut-out continues with full airflow and a freshly charged cell, internal resistance in the battery has risen high enough that even normal motor-start draw triggers the trip — at that point, replace the cell.

I replaced the battery but the Shark V1950 won't charge on the dock — the indicator just blinks and stops.

Some Shark chargers run a voltage handshake before starting a charge cycle — if the replacement cell arrives deeply discharged, the charger may read it as a fault rather than a flat cell. Take the battery off the dock, wait 60 seconds, then reseat it firmly and try again. If the blink pattern continues, check that the dock contacts are clean and making full contact with the battery terminals. A confirmed open-circuit voltage of at least 6.0V at the battery terminals tells you the cell is functional and the issue is contact or handshake timing.
