Run one full discharge to hibernate cutoff, then a full uninterrupted charge to 100%. After two to three cycles, the fuel gauge IC recalibrates against the new cell and the health warning clears.

P7 Pro shutting down abruptly at 20–30% remaining

This happens when the cell cannot hold voltage under combined CPU and display load — the voltage drops sharply at that state-of-charge rather than tapering gradually. The OS fuel gauge reports 20–30% but the actual cell voltage has already fallen below the BMS cutoff threshold. It is a voltage-cliff behaviour common in Li-ion cells that have not yet been calibrated to the system. Run the full discharge-to-hibernate cycle described above, and confirm the cell reaches at least 16.6V on a full charge before reinstalling.

Why does Windows show the Eurocom P7 Pro battery as 0% or "unknown" right after fitting a new cell?

The fuel gauge IC on the P7 Pro reads EEPROM data written by the original cell — a fresh replacement has no matching data, so Windows reports 0% or an unrecognised device. This is not a faulty battery. Run one full discharge to hibernate cutoff and then charge to 100% without interruption. After two full cycles the fuel gauge IC recalibrates and the OS reads capacity correctly.

The Eurocom P7 Pro stops charging at 80% and won't go higher — is the replacement cell at fault?

No. Eurocom's BIOS includes a charge-limit setting that caps charging at 80% to reduce cell wear — it applies regardless of which cell is installed. Go into the BIOS power settings and check whether "Battery Charge Limit" or a similar option is enabled. Disabling it or setting the threshold to 100% will allow a full charge. The replacement cell itself has no internal cap.

System info shows the wrong Wh rating for the new P7 Pro battery — it doesn't match the 65.12Wh spec on the listing.

The Wh figure shown in system info is pulled from the EEPROM of the battery controller, which may hold rated values from the previous cell's firmware rather than the actual capacity of the new one. This is a data-display issue, not a capacity fault. Complete two full discharge-and-charge calibration cycles and the reported Wh value will update to reflect the new cell's actual chemistry. Confirm the voltage reads approximately 16.6V at full charge as a cross-check.
