Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Fakir IC 1022 — 7.2V Ni-MH Replacement Battery (30 28 003)
This is a 7.2V, 3000mAh Ni-MH replacement battery for the Fakir IC 1022 cordless handheld vacuum cleaner. It fits OEM part numbers 30 28 003 and 30 27 003. When the original cell degrades, this swap restores full cordless suction without replacing the entire unit.
- IC 1022 platform fit: The IC 1022 runs a brushed DC motor on a 7.2V rail with a fixed connector block. Ni-MH chemistry is required here — Li-ion cells won't match the charger's constant-current profile or the physical housing geometry.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through repeated full discharge and charge sequences on the IC 1022 platform. The BMS held voltage within spec under sustained motor load and recovered cleanly from low-state discharge without false cutoff.
- Dock charging on the IC 1022: Do not leave the vacuum sitting on the charging dock permanently. Continuous trickle charge on Ni-MH cells accelerates capacity fade faster than periodic full cycles. Charge to full and remove from the dock.
Suction dropping before the battery indicator reaches low on the IC 1022
This happens when motor voltage sags under load before the cell is actually depleted. On the IC 1022, a partially blocked filter forces the motor to draw above its rated current, which pulls the battery voltage down early. The BMS reads that sag as low charge and throttles output. Clean or replace the filter first — if suction recovers immediately after, the battery is not the cause. If sag persists with a clean filter, the cell has developed capacity fade and needs replacement.
Motor cuts out mid-use then recovers after a few seconds
This is a BMS overcurrent trip, not a dead battery. When airflow is restricted — blocked nozzle, clogged filter, or pressed hard into heavy carpet — the motor draws a sustained current spike that crosses the BMS cutoff threshold. The BMS disconnects the cell to protect it, then resets after a short cool-down. Clear the blockage and check the filter before assuming the battery is faulty. If trips continue on a clear filter with a new cell, measure the resting voltage — it should sit above 7.0V before use.

Frequently Asked Questions
My Fakir IC 1022 has noticeably less suction than it used to, even right after a full charge — what causes that?
A degraded Ni-MH cell loses capacity gradually with each charge cycle, so the motor gets less sustained voltage even when the indicator shows full. The other common cause is a partially blocked filter making the motor work harder than rated, which drains the cell faster. Clean the filter first — if suction improves, the battery still has life. If suction stays weak with a clean filter and a new battery, check the nozzle pathway for a partial blockage.
The IC 1022 won't charge after I fitted the replacement battery — the charger light doesn't respond at all.
The IC 1022 charger expects the cell voltage to sit within a specific acceptance window before it initiates the charge cycle. A deeply discharged replacement cell can read below that threshold and the charger won't engage. Connect the battery and leave it on the dock for 15 minutes — some chargers apply a recovery trickle before switching to full charge. If there's still no response, measure the battery terminals with a multimeter; a reading below 5.0V means the cell needs a brief external pre-charge before the onboard charger will accept it.
My IC 1022 has been sitting unused for several months and now it won't hold any charge — is the new battery dead already?
Ni-MH cells self-discharge faster than most other chemistries — around 1–2% of capacity per day at room temperature. After several months of storage, the cell can drop below the charger's acceptance voltage, which makes it appear dead when it just needs recovery. Put it on charge for a full uninterrupted cycle and check whether it responds within 30 minutes. If the charger shows no activity after 30 minutes, measure the terminal voltage — anything above 4.5V should recover; below that, the cell has likely fully self-discharged past recovery and the replacement battery itself should be tested.
