Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Inotec VC72 Ocean Sun — 7.2V Ni-MH Replacement Battery (30 27 003 / 30 28 003)
This is a 7.2V, 3000mAh Ni-MH replacement battery for the Inotec VC72 Ocean Sun cordless handheld vacuum cleaner. It fits the OEM part numbers 30 27 003 and 30 28 003. Capacity listed is from the product specification — 21.6Wh total energy.
- VC72 Ocean Sun platform fit: The VC72 Ocean Sun uses a 7.2V Ni-MH cell pack with a specific physical envelope — 127.20 x 45.00 x 23.70mm. Both OEM part numbers reference this same pack. The connector orientation and BMS contact points match the original dock charging circuit.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through discharge under simulated motor load. The BMS held stable across repeated draw spikes typical of a handheld vacuum picking up debris. Voltage held above the motor cutoff threshold through full depletion cycles.
- Dock charging discipline on the VC72: Do not leave the VC72 on its charging dock permanently. Ni-MH cells on continuous trickle charge develop capacity fade faster than cells charged only when depleted. Charge to full, then remove the vacuum from the dock.
Suction dropping before the battery indicator reaches low on the VC72 Ocean Sun
This happens because the vacuum motor draws more current when airflow is restricted — a partially blocked filter forces the motor to work harder, pulling amperage above its rated draw. The BMS reads this as a high-load event and throttles output voltage to protect the cell. The result feels like a dying battery, but the cell still has charge. Clean or replace the filter first — if suction recovers immediately, the battery was not the problem.
Motor cutting out mid-use and then recovering after a few seconds
This is a BMS overcurrent trip, not a dead battery. When sustained suction restriction forces the motor current above the BMS threshold, the protection circuit opens momentarily and then resets. The vacuum will restart after a short pause. Check the filter and the inlet path for blockages before assuming the battery is faulty. If the cut-out happens on a clear filter with a new battery, verify the charger fully brings the pack to 7.2V before each use.

Frequently Asked Questions
My VC72 Ocean Sun loses suction well before the battery light comes on — is the battery already dying?
Not necessarily. A restricted filter forces the motor to draw more current than rated, which causes the BMS to throttle output voltage — suction drops even though the cell still has charge remaining. Clean the filter first and test again. If suction holds, the battery is fine; if suction still fades on a clear filter, the cell likely needs replacement and the pack voltage at load has dropped below 6.5V.
The vacuum keeps cutting out and restarting on its own every 30 seconds or so — what's happening?
That's a BMS overcurrent trip resetting in a loop. The motor is pulling more amperage than the BMS allows, usually because airflow is blocked somewhere between the inlet and the filter. Clear the filter and check the inlet nozzle for debris. If the cut-out stops, the battery and BMS are working correctly; if it continues on a clear airpath with a fresh battery, the charger may not be bringing the pack to a full 7.2V before use — confirm with a multimeter at the battery terminals.
The replacement battery charges but the VC72 barely runs longer than the worn-out original — why?
Continuous dock charging is the most common cause. Ni-MH cells left on a trickle charge indefinitely suffer capacity fade, so if the old battery spent most of its life on the dock, a new cell stored the same way will degrade at the same rate. Remove the vacuum from the dock once charging is complete. If the new battery was already partially discharged in storage, run it through two full charge-and-depletion cycles and check whether capacity recovers.
