Fits SkyGolf SkyCaddie Touch and X8F-SCTouch models, replacing OEM part SPT-1301.
This 3.7V 1200mAh lithium-ion cell delivers full capacity to restore GPS and course mapping functionality.
Connector slides into the battery slot with flat orientation; locking tab seats flush against the device housing.
We bench-tested this cell in a SkyCaddie Touch unit; the BMS accepted charge at 500mA with stable voltage regulation throughout the cycle.
After installation, power the device fully on outdoors and let it acquire satellite lock before navigation — cold start after power interruption requires 5–10 minutes for first fix.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

SkyGolf SkyCaddie Touch — 3.7V Li-ion Replacement Battery (SPT-1301)

This 3.7V 1200mAh Li-ion cell replaces the original SPT-1301 battery in the SkyGolf SkyCaddie Touch handheld golf GPS. It restores power to the device when the factory cell can no longer hold a usable charge. Fits the SkyCaddie Touch and X8F-SCTouch variants.

  • SkyCaddie Touch and X8F-SCTouch compatibility: Both models run the same 3.7V single-cell architecture with identical connector pinout and BMS handshake requirements. One cell covers both variants without modification.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through full charge and discharge on the SkyCaddie Touch platform. The BMS accepted charge without fault flags and the GPS receiver initialised normally at full voltage.
  • First-start cold acquisition tip: After fitting this cell, power the device on outdoors before your round. The GPS performs a cold start after any full power interruption — first satellite fix takes 5–10 minutes. Subsequent warm starts after that drop to under a minute.

Why the SkyCaddie Touch shuts off without any low-battery warning

The SkyCaddie Touch reads the battery indicator from a stored charge curve calibrated to the original cell. When a degraded or new replacement cell has a slightly different discharge curve, the device can hit its voltage cutoff threshold before the on-screen indicator reaches the warning zone. This makes shutdown appear sudden even though the cell is behaving normally. After a few full charge-discharge cycles, the device recalibrates its reading against the new cell's actual curve and warnings reappear at the correct point.

Saved course data and POIs missing after battery swap

Some SkyCaddie Touch data — including downloaded course maps cached in battery-backed RAM — can be lost when the cell is fully removed and power drops to zero. This is a normal consequence of complete power interruption, not a device fault. To restore course data, reconnect to SkyGolf's course manager software and re-sync your course library over Wi-Fi or USB. Re-sync before your next round to avoid arriving at the course without map data loaded.

Frequently Asked Questions

My SkyCaddie Touch still hasn't found satellites 10 minutes after I swapped the battery — is something wrong?

Nothing is wrong. Removing the battery completely clears the GPS receiver's almanac and ephemeris data, forcing a cold start from scratch. Cold acquisition on the SkyCaddie Touch takes 5–10 minutes outdoors with clear sky view — the same as a factory-reset unit. Stand outside away from buildings and give it a full 10 minutes on the first power-up after the swap. Every start after that will be a warm start and lock in under a minute.

The SkyCaddie Touch is draining much faster during a round than it used to — what's happening?

Active navigation runs the GPS receiver and display simultaneously, which draws significantly more current than standby. If screen brightness is at maximum and the device is continuously rendering course maps, current draw is at its peak the entire round. Drop screen brightness one or two steps — the display is the single largest power consumer on this device. Also confirm the new cell has completed at least two full charge cycles, as Li-ion cells don't reach full rated capacity until after initial cycling.

GPS accuracy on my SkyCaddie Touch seems off at the end of a round — yardages look wrong near the finish.

Some GPS units reduce receiver sensitivity at low battery to conserve power, which degrades position accuracy. On the SkyCaddie Touch, this shows up as yardage readings drifting by several yards when the cell voltage drops below roughly 3.5V. A freshly charged 1200mAh cell at 3.7V nominal gives the receiver consistent headroom across a full 18 holes. If accuracy degrades late in the round, start the next round with a full charge and check whether the issue moves with battery state.
