Fits Voice Caddie VC200 Voice GPS navigator, replaces OEM battery GN452528.
3.7V 270mAh Li-Polymer cell powers the handheld golf GPS unit through full rounds.
Connector slides into the battery slot with a single locking tab on the left side.
We ran charge cycles on the VC200 platform; the BMS accepted the cell without fault codes on first insertion.
After fitting this cell, power the GPS fully on outdoors and allow satellite acquisition before navigating — cold start requires 5–10 minutes for initial fix after battery swap.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Voice Caddie VC200 / VC200 Voice — 3.7V Li-Polymer Replacement Battery (GN452528)

This is a 3.7V 270mAh Li-Polymer cell for the Voice Caddie VC200 and VC200 Voice handheld golf GPS devices. It replaces OEM part GN452528 and restores power to the navigator's course data, distance readouts, and shot-tracking functions. Dimensions are 29.00 x 23.30 x 4.60mm — verify these against your existing cell before fitting.

  • VC200 and VC200 Voice compatibility: Both devices share the same battery bay dimensions, connector pinout, and BMS handshake protocol. The GN452528 part number covers the full VC200 range — no hardware difference between the voice and non-voice variants that affects battery fitment.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through charge and discharge on the VC200 platform. The BMS accepted the cell without fault codes, voltage sat steady at 3.7V nominal, and the protection circuit tripped correctly at both over-voltage and low-voltage thresholds.
  • Cold-start after power interruption: After fitting this cell, power the device on outdoors and let it acquire a satellite fix before use. Full power removal resets the GPS to a cold start — first lock can take 5–10 minutes. Subsequent warm starts drop to under a minute once almanac data is cached.

GPS accuracy dropping at low battery on the VC200

As the GN452528 cell ages and capacity fades, the VC200 receiver begins reducing sensitivity to conserve the remaining voltage. At low charge, the GPS chip draws less power to the antenna circuit, which narrows the number of satellites tracked. Fewer satellites means wider positional error — distances to the pin can read 5–15 yards off. Replacing the cell restores full receiver power and returns accuracy to spec.

VC200 shutting off without a low-battery warning

The VC200's fuel gauge is calibrated against the original cell's discharge curve. An aged or mismatched cell collapses voltage faster than the gauge anticipates, so the device hits the 3.0V hardware cutoff before the on-screen indicator reaches the warning threshold. The unit simply powers off mid-round with no visual alert. After fitting a fresh GN452528 cell, run two full charge-discharge cycles so the fuel gauge can re-calibrate its low-voltage warning against the new cell's actual curve.

Frequently Asked Questions

The VC200 lost all my saved courses after I swapped the battery — is that normal?

Yes. The VC200 stores some user data in battery-backed RAM, and full power removal during a cell swap can wipe anything held in volatile memory. Course maps stored in flash are safe, but custom POIs or saved round data may not survive the gap. Before swapping, note any settings or data you want to keep, then re-enter them after the new cell is fitted and the device boots cleanly.

My VC200 is taking 8 minutes to find satellites after fitting the new battery — is the GPS broken?

It is not broken. Removing power clears the GPS receiver's almanac and ephemeris cache, forcing a cold start on next power-up. Cold starts on the VC200 take 5–10 minutes to pull fresh satellite data; every start after that should lock in under 60 seconds. Stand outside with a clear view of the sky and leave the device on — it will lock without any intervention.

The VC200 drains noticeably faster during active navigation than it used to — what's happening?

Active navigation runs the GPS receiver and display simultaneously, drawing significantly more current than standby. If drain has worsened, the most likely cause is a cell that has degraded below its rated 270mAh capacity through repeated shallow cycles. A cell sitting at 150–180mAh effective capacity will behave exactly as you describe. Fit a fresh GN452528 replacement and avoid storing the device for extended periods at full charge, which accelerates Li-Polymer capacity loss.
