Place the handset in the base for up to 30 minutes — many bases will eventually begin a trickle charge once the pack voltage climbs above the acceptance floor. Under RF transmit load, a partially charged or unconditioned NiMH cell sags in voltage, and the handset's transmit power drops with it.
