Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Genius Invictus A8 / X7 Series — 25.2V Li-ion Replacement Battery (101904370)
This is a 25.2V 2000mAh (50.4Wh) Li-ion battery pack for the Genius Invictus cordless stick vacuum range. It fits the Invictus A8, A9, X7, and X7-01 models. The OEM part numbers are 101904370 and ZB1669-7S1P-01.
- Invictus A8, A9, X7, and X7-01 compatibility: These models share the same 25.2V seven-cell series configuration, connector pinout, and BMS communication protocol — one pack covers the entire platform without modification.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this pack through full charge and discharge cycles on the Invictus platform. The BMS handled motor-start inrush current without tripping and held voltage above the low-cutoff threshold through normal suction load.
- Dock charging practice for Invictus vacuums: Do not leave the vacuum sitting on the charging dock permanently. The Invictus dock does not interrupt trickle current after the pack reaches full charge. Continuous dock connection accelerates capacity fade. Charge to full, then remove the vacuum from the dock.
Suction dropping before the battery indicator reaches low on the Invictus
The Invictus motor draws significantly more current when airflow is restricted — a partially blocked filter can push draw well beyond the rated load. As current spikes, cell voltage sags faster than the indicator circuit expects, so the vacuum loses suction while the display still shows two or three bars. This is not a faulty battery. Clear the filter and check the bin seal before concluding the pack is at fault. After cleaning, if suction holds consistently, the battery was fine all along.
Motor cuts out mid-use then restarts after a few seconds
This is a BMS overcurrent trip, not a battery failure. When the motor sustains a high-draw condition — carpet pile blockage, tangled brush roll, or a clogged pre-filter — current exceeds the pack's protection threshold and the BMS disconnects the output. The pack resets once current drops and cell temperature normalises, which is why power returns after a brief pause. Clear the blockage, check the filter, and restart. If the trip repeats immediately on a clear filter, verify the replacement pack voltage reads at least 25.0V before installation.

Frequently Asked Questions
My Genius Invictus has noticeably less suction than it used to, but the battery indicator still shows full — what's happening?
A degraded cell pack loses voltage faster under motor load even when resting voltage looks healthy, so the indicator reads high while actual available power under suction is low. We see this consistently with packs that have been on continuous dock charge — capacity fades without the voltage signature that triggers a low-battery warning. Replacing the pack restores the voltage headroom the motor needs to sustain full airflow. Fit the new battery, run a full charge cycle, then remove it from the dock once complete.
The Invictus was working fine, then after fitting the replacement battery it won't charge — the charger light just stays green or does nothing.
The Genius charger handshakes with the BMS before initiating a charge cycle — if the pack voltage has dropped below roughly 20V in storage, the charger may not recognise the pack as valid and skips the charge phase entirely. Connect the vacuum to the charger and leave it undisturbed for 15 minutes; some BMS firmware versions require a brief contact period before the handshake completes. If the charger still shows no activity after 15 minutes, check that the dock contacts and pack terminals are clean and fully seated. A multimeter reading below 18V across the pack terminals indicates the cells have deep-discharged and recovery charge is needed.
My Invictus runtime seemed fine at first but has got noticeably shorter after a few months — the battery isn't old, what causes that?
Shallow cycling is the most common cause in cordless vacuums — topping up after a short session instead of running the pack down fully before recharging compresses the usable capacity range the BMS learns over time. Continuous dock charging compounds this by applying a low-level charge current even when the pack is at 100%, which stresses the cells at the top of their voltage range. Run the battery down to the auto-cutoff point, charge fully in one session, then remove from the dock. Repeating this full-cycle pattern over several uses typically recovers noticeable runtime compared to habitual top-up charging.
