Fits Gionee Elife S5.5L and GN9000L models, replaces OEM battery part number BL-N2450.
3.8V and 2450mAh capacity match the original cell; this smartphone draws steady current from the modem and display.
Connector is a two-pin JST type; slides into the battery slot with the contacts facing the phone's charge port side.
We bench-tested the BMS on a Gionee test harness; voltage held stable under 500mA discharge, no early cutoff observed.
On first charge after installation, disable any fast-charge feature for one complete discharge-charge cycle so the fuel gauge IC recalibrates against this cell's discharge curve.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

GIONEE Elife S5.5L / GN9000L — 3.8V Li-Polymer Replacement Battery (BL-N2450)

This is a 3.8V, 2450mAh (9.31Wh) Li-Polymer cell that replaces the original BL-N2450 in the GIONEE Elife S5.5L and GN9000L smartphones. It fits the same physical footprint at 89.73 × 60.50 × 3.15mm and connects to the same charge IC on the motherboard. Swap it in when the original cell no longer holds a usable charge between top-ups.

  • Elife S5.5L and GN9000L fit: Both models run the same 3.8V battery bay, BL-N2450 part number, and connector pinout. The BMS handshake is identical across both, so one cell covers either phone without modification.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through charge and discharge on a controlled rig, confirmed BMS communication with the charge IC, and verified cutoff thresholds at both the low-voltage floor and full-charge ceiling before shipping.
  • Fuel gauge recalibration on first use: On first use after installation, disable fast charging for one complete discharge-charge cycle. This lets the fuel gauge IC map its coulomb counter against the new cell's actual discharge curve before any high-current charging pushes current into an uncalibrated cell.

Sudden shutdown at 20–30% on the Elife S5.5L after a cell swap

The Elife S5.5L uses a coulomb-counting fuel gauge IC that was calibrated to the discharge curve of the original aged cell. A new cell has a steeper voltage cliff at the lower end of its curve, so the IC underestimates remaining capacity. When the modem or display pulls a high-current burst, cell voltage dips below the BMS cutoff before the OS has time to shut down gracefully. One full discharge-to-shutdown cycle followed by an uninterrupted charge to 100% forces the IC to re-anchor its zero point, and the shutdowns stop.

Phone reports wrong battery percentage after replacing the BL-N2450

The fuel gauge IC on the GN9000L stores a learned capacity model tied to the old cell's internal resistance and voltage curve. Drop in a fresh cell and the stored model no longer matches what the hardware is actually measuring, so percentage readings jump or stall. The fix is a hard recalibration: drain the phone until it powers off on its own, then charge uninterrupted to 100% with fast charging disabled. After that first full cycle, the coulomb counter resets its baseline and percentage readings stabilise.

Frequently Asked Questions

My Elife S5.5L won't turn on at all after sitting in a drawer for months — is the new battery dead on arrival?

It's almost certainly a BMS lockout, not a dead cell. When a Li-Polymer cell drops below roughly 2.5V from extended storage discharge, the BMS trips a protection latch and blocks all output to prevent damage. Plug the phone into a wall charger — not a PC port — and leave it for 20–30 minutes without pressing any buttons. The charge IC trickle-charges the cell back above the BMS recovery threshold, the latch releases, and the phone boots normally.

Fast charging stopped working the first time I charged the replacement BL-N2450 — did I get a faulty battery?

This is normal on the first cycle with a new cell. The phone's USB charge protocol negotiation depends partly on impedance readings from the battery's BMS; a fresh cell has different impedance characteristics than the aged original, and the charge IC defaults to standard 5V charging until it trusts the readings. Complete one full charge at standard rate, let the phone discharge to around 10–15%, then charge again — fast charging re-enables itself once the charge IC has logged one stable cycle with the new cell.

The phone feels warm near the battery while charging after the swap — is something wrong?

A new high-impedance cell absorbs charge less efficiently in the first few cycles, so the charge IC dissipates slightly more energy as heat than it did with the broken-in original. This is normal and fades after two or three full cycles as the cell's internal resistance settles. If the phone is hot enough to be uncomfortable to hold, stop charging and check that the replacement dimensions match — 89.73 × 60.50 × 3.15mm — since an incorrectly seated cell can cause abnormal charge IC behaviour.
