Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.
Delivery and Shipping
Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Wiko Getaway — 3.8V Li-Polymer 2000mAh Replacement Battery (TLE14J14)
This is a 3.8V Li-Polymer, 2000mAh replacement battery for the Wiko Getaway smartphone. It fits the compact Android Getaway handset and matches the original cell's voltage and physical footprint. OEM part numbers TLE14J14 and TLE14I14 both apply to this battery.
- Getaway platform fit: The Getaway uses a dedicated connector and contact layout tied to this cell size. The BMS reads cell impedance on first boot — the replacement cell must sit within the voltage window the phone's charge IC expects, which this unit does.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this cell through charge and discharge cycles on the bench, confirming the BMS accepted the cell without flagging over-voltage or under-voltage faults, and that the charge IC completed a full cycle without thermal cutoff.
- First-cycle fuel gauge reset: On first use after installation, disable fast charging and let the phone run through one complete discharge-to-charge cycle. This gives the fuel gauge IC time to recalibrate its discharge curve against the new cell before high-current charging begins on an uncalibrated register.
Why the Getaway reports wrong battery percentage after a cell swap
The Getaway uses a fuel gauge IC that stores a learned discharge curve from the original cell. When you install a new cell, the IC still references that old curve, so the percentage readout drifts — sometimes showing 50% when the phone is closer to 20%. One full discharge-charge cycle lets the coulomb counter reset its baseline against the new cell's actual capacity. Until that cycle completes, percentage readings will be approximate. After calibration, the gauge should track to within a few percent of actual state of charge.
Sudden shutdown at 20–30% on the replacement cell
This happens when the cell cannot hold voltage under the combined load of the modem radio, screen, and background processes — even though the fuel gauge still shows charge remaining. The voltage drops sharply below the BMS cutoff threshold, and the phone shuts down before the gauge catches up. It is more common in the first few cycles before the fuel gauge IC has fully recalibrated. Run two complete discharge-charge cycles and check whether the shutdown point moves; if the phone stays on past 15%, the gauge is converging. If shutdowns continue below 3.6V under load, check that the replacement cell contacts are seated flush against the board connector.

Frequently Asked Questions
The Getaway powers on, gets to the boot screen, then shuts off immediately — is this a dead cell or a BMS lockout?
If the cell sat discharged in storage for weeks or months, the BMS may have tripped its under-voltage lockout below 2.5V per cell. Plug the phone into a wall charger — not a PC USB port — and leave it for 20–30 minutes before attempting to power on. The charge IC needs to push a trickle current into the cell to bring it above the BMS recovery threshold, typically around 3.0V, before the phone will boot normally.
Fast charging stopped working on the Getaway after I put in the replacement battery — the phone only charges slowly now.
The Getaway's charge IC negotiates the fast-charge protocol on the first cycle after a new cell is detected. Some BMS units in replacement cells hold the IC in standard-rate mode until the first full charge cycle completes. Plug in with the original Wiko charger, let it charge to 100% without interruption, then unplug and restart the phone. On the next charge session, fast charging should re-negotiate correctly.
Battery percentage on the Getaway is jumping around — goes from 60% to 45% to 55% within a few minutes.
The fuel gauge IC is recalibrating against the new cell's impedance curve, and the coulomb counter readings are unstable until it completes at least one full reference cycle. Drain the phone until it powers off on its own, then charge uninterrupted to 100% without using the device. That single full cycle gives the IC enough data points to stabilise the register, and erratic percentage jumps should stop after that.
