Fits BLU Pure XL smartphone; replaces original 3.8V lithium-polymer cell.
3.8V at 3500mAh delivers stable voltage under processor and display load.
Connector type and orientation match OEM slot; no adapter needed.
We bench-tested the cell under sustained modem and screen draw; BMS held voltage curve without early cutoff.
On first charge after installation, run one complete discharge-charge cycle without fast charging to let the fuel gauge IC recalibrate against this cell's discharge curve.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

BLU Pure XL — 3.8V Li-Polymer 3500mAh Replacement Battery

This is a 3.8V, 3500mAh lithium-polymer replacement battery for the BLU Pure XL smartphone. It slots into the Pure XL's battery bay and restores power to the processor, display, modem, and all other onboard components. Capacity is 13.3Wh, matching the original cell specification.

  • Pure XL platform fit: The Pure XL uses a fixed-connector lithium-polymer cell with a specific footprint — 76.00 x 63.90 x 4.50mm. This battery matches that footprint exactly, including the BMS communication pins the charge IC expects to see on power-up.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this cell through charge and discharge cycles on the Pure XL platform. The BMS handshake completed correctly on first boot, and the charge IC accepted the cell without fault flags or charging interruptions.
  • Fuel gauge recalibration on first use: On first use after installation, disable fast charging and run one complete discharge-charge cycle at standard rate. This gives the fuel gauge IC time to map the new cell's discharge curve before high-current charging begins on an uncalibrated counter.

Sudden shutdown at 20–30% on the replacement cell

This is a voltage cliff issue, not a capacity defect. A new lithium-polymer cell has a slightly different voltage-versus-charge curve than the aged cell the fuel gauge IC was calibrated against. Under peak modem or display load, the phone's voltage drops below the shutdown threshold before the percentage reading catches up. One full discharge-charge cycle at standard rate resets the coulomb counter and brings the reported percentage back in line with actual cell voltage. After calibration, shutdowns below 20% stop.

OS reporting wrong battery percentage after cell swap

The fuel gauge IC on the Pure XL stores a learned discharge curve from the original cell. When a new cell goes in, that stored curve no longer matches the actual voltage profile, so the percentage display jumps or reads inaccurately. Drain the battery until the phone shuts down on its own, then charge uninterrupted to 100% without fast charging enabled. After one complete cycle, the coulomb counter recalibrates to the new cell and percentage reporting stabilises.

Frequently Asked Questions

My BLU Pure XL won't turn on at all after the replacement battery sat in a drawer for a few months — is the battery dead?

The BMS has likely tripped into lockout mode after the cell voltage dropped below 2.5V during storage. Connect the phone to a charger and leave it for 15–20 minutes without pressing the power button — the charge IC needs time to trickle current into the cell before the BMS will release lockout. Once the cell climbs above 3.0V, the phone will boot normally.

Fast charging stopped working the first time I plugged in after fitting this battery — the phone just charges slowly now.

On the first charge cycle after a cell swap, the USB-PD negotiation can fall back to standard 5V charging because the BMS hasn't yet confirmed cell health to the charge IC. Unplug, reboot the phone fully, then reconnect the charger. In most cases the charge IC re-negotiates the fast charge protocol on the second connection once the BMS has reported a valid cell state.

The Pure XL feels noticeably warm near the battery during the first few charges — should I be concerned?

A new high-impedance cell generates more heat during initial charge cycles than a broken-in cell does. The charge IC is pushing current into a cell with slightly higher internal resistance than the original, which converts more energy to heat at the cell surface. This reduces after two or three full cycles as the cell's internal resistance settles. If the phone becomes hot to the touch rather than just warm, drop to a standard 5W charger for the first three cycles.
