Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Medion Life X5001 — 3.8V Li-Polymer Replacement Battery (CA366069HV)
This is a 3.8V, 2150mAh Li-Polymer battery for the Medion Life X5001 Android smartphone. It replaces part number CA366069HV directly. Swap it in when the original cell can no longer hold a usable charge through a normal day of calls, messaging, and apps.
- Life X5001 fit: Both "Life X5001" and "X5001" listings refer to the same hardware revision. The battery connector, BMS handshake voltage, and cell dimensions — 70.10 × 58.87 × 3.70 mm — match the OEM tray without modification.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through charge and discharge on the X5001 board. The BMS accepted the cell on first connect, charge IC ramped to full current without fault codes, and the fuel gauge IC tracked state-of-charge without dropout.
- First-cycle calibration on the X5001: After installation, disable fast charging for one complete discharge-charge cycle. The fuel gauge IC is still calibrated to the old cell's discharge curve. Running one slow cycle first lets the coulomb counter reset against the new cell before fast charging pushes higher current into an uncalibrated state.
Sudden shutdown at 20–30% on the Life X5001 after a cell swap
This happens because the fuel gauge IC is still reading the old cell's voltage-to-capacity curve. When the new cell hits a steeper voltage drop under modem or screen load, the phone sees voltage fall below its shutdown threshold before the displayed percentage reaches zero. The OS shuts down to protect the board even though the gauge still shows charge remaining. One full slow discharge-charge cycle — without fast charging — resets the coulomb counter and maps the new cell's actual curve, stopping the premature cutoffs.
Battery percentage jumping erratically after fitting the CA366069HV
Erratic percentage readings after a cell swap are a fuel gauge IC recalibration issue, not a fault with the new cell. The coulomb counter accumulated error data from the degraded original battery over hundreds of cycles, and it carries that error forward to the new cell immediately. The fix is straightforward: let the phone discharge to automatic shutdown, then charge uninterrupted to 100% at standard speed with the screen off. After that single full cycle the gauge stabilises and percentage jumps stop.

Frequently Asked Questions
My Medion Life X5001 won't turn on at all after the replacement battery sat in a drawer for a few months — is the cell dead?
It's likely a BMS lockout, not a dead cell. Li-Polymer cells self-discharge in storage, and if voltage dropped below roughly 2.5V the BMS cuts all output to prevent damage. Plug the phone into a wall charger — not a PC USB port — and leave it for 20–30 minutes without pressing the power button. The charge IC needs to trickle current into the cell long enough to bring it above the BMS re-enable threshold before the phone will respond.
Fast charging stopped working on my X5001 right after I fitted the new battery — USB-PD was fine before.
The USB-PD or proprietary fast charge handshake between the charger and the phone's charge IC sometimes rejects on the first cycle with a new cell because the BMS presents a slightly different impedance profile than the worn original. This is normal and not a fault. Run one complete charge at standard speed using a basic 5V charger with no fast charge protocol. On the second charge cycle, plug in your original fast charger and the handshake should complete correctly at full current.
The Life X5001 feels warm near the back panel while charging with the new CA366069HV battery — is something wrong?
Mild warmth during charging on a new cell is expected. A fresh Li-Polymer cell has higher internal impedance than a well-cycled one, so the charge IC dissipates slightly more heat in the first 10–15 cycles as resistance drops with use. If the back panel is hot to the touch — not just warm — remove the charger and check that you are not using a third-party cable with high contact resistance. Switch to the original cable and a certified 5V/2A adapter; charge current should stabilise and warmth should reduce noticeably within a few charge cycles.
