Fits Google Pixel 2 and Pixel 2B smartphones, replacing OEM battery BG2W.
Voltage 3.85V, capacity 2700mAh — restores full charge cycles to aging devices.
Connector type is proprietary pogo pins; orientation marked on cell housing.
We ran full discharge cycles on the BMS; voltage curve held steady under load.
On first use after installation, disable fast charging for one complete discharge-charge cycle — this lets the fuel gauge IC recalibrate against the new cell discharge curve before USB-PD fast charging resumes.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Google Pixel 2 — 3.85V Li-Polymer Replacement Battery (BG2W)

This is a 3.85V, 2700mAh Li-Polymer cell replacing the BG2W battery in the Google Pixel 2 (Pixel 2B / Pixel 2 Muski). It fits the original battery bay without modification. Swap it when your Pixel 2 shuts down early, charges slowly, or no longer holds a full day of charge.

  • Pixel 2 (Muski / 2B) fit: Both Pixel 2 variants use the same BG2W cell with identical voltage rails, connector pinout, and BMS handshake. One SKU covers both board revisions — no adapter or harness swap needed.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell on a Pixel 2 mainboard and confirmed the BMS handshake completed, charge IC accepted the cell on first connect, and voltage held stable under full modem and display load.
  • Fuel gauge recalibration on first use: After installation, disable fast charging and run one full discharge-to-charge cycle before enabling Adaptive Charging. This lets the fuel gauge IC map the new cell's discharge curve before high-current pulses are applied to an uncalibrated cell.

Sudden shutdown at 20–30% on the Pixel 2 after a battery swap

The Pixel 2 fuel gauge IC stores a learned discharge curve from the old cell. When a new cell goes in, that curve no longer matches actual cell voltage under load. The modem and display draw a combined surge the old curve doesn't account for, so the IC reads a false low-voltage condition and triggers an emergency shutdown — even though the cell still has charge. One full discharge cycle below 5% and a complete charge to 100% forces the coulomb counter to rebuild its reference table against the new cell.

USB-PD fast charge not accepted on the first cycle after replacement

After a cell swap, the Pixel 2 charge IC defaults to trickle charge on the first connect while it checks cell impedance. If the phone doesn't recognise a fast charge handshake in this window, it stays in standard charge mode for the entire first cycle. This is normal BMS behaviour — not a fault with the cable or charger. Fully discharge and recharge once, and fast charge will re-engage on the second cycle when cell impedance registers within the expected range.

Frequently Asked Questions

My Pixel 2 shuts off at around 25% after fitting the new battery — why?

The fuel gauge IC is still using the discharge curve it learned from the old, degraded cell. Under modem and screen load, the new cell's voltage profile doesn't match that stored curve, so the IC calls a false low-voltage cutoff. Run one full discharge down to automatic shutdown, then charge uninterrupted to 100% — this forces the coulomb counter to recalibrate against the new cell and the shutdowns stop.

The Pixel 2 battery percentage is jumping around erratically after the swap — is the cell faulty?

The cell is not faulty. The fuel gauge IC recalibrates against live charge data for the first one to three cycles after a replacement. Until it builds a new reference curve, the reported percentage can jump 5–10% in either direction. Let the phone complete two full discharge-charge cycles without interruption and the percentage readings will stabilise as the coulomb counter locks onto the new cell's actual curve.

My Pixel 2 won't power on at all after the replacement battery sat in a drawer for months — how do I recover it?

Li-Polymer cells that sit in storage self-discharge below the BMS protection threshold — typically around 2.5V per cell — and the BMS locks out to prevent damage. Plug the phone into a charger and leave it for 20–30 minutes without pressing the power button; the charge IC will trickle-feed the cell back above the lockout threshold before allowing a normal boot. If the screen stays dark past 30 minutes, try a different USB-C cable and a wall adapter rated at 5V/2A minimum — a low-current source may not supply enough to break the BMS lockout.
