Fits Google Pixel 3A and replaces OEM battery G020E-B.
Supplies 3.85V and 2900mAh — restores full charge capacity on the Pixel 3A processor, display, and modem.
Connector slides into the battery slot with the contact pads facing the phone's charge IC; no locking tab.
We bench-tested this cell against a Pixel 3A motherboard; the BMS accepted USB-PD on cycle two after initial charge handshake.
On first use after installation, disable fast charging for one complete discharge-charge cycle — this lets the fuel gauge IC recalibrate against the new cell discharge curve before high-current fast charging pushes current into an uncalibrated cell.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Google Pixel 3A — 3.85V Li-Polymer Replacement Battery (G020E-B)

This 3.85V, 2900mAh Li-Polymer battery replaces the original G020E-B cell in the Google Pixel 3A. It fits Pixel 3A variants across model codes G020H, G020G, and G020E. Swap it in when the original cell no longer holds a useful charge through a normal day.

  • Pixel 3A variant compatibility: The G020H, G020G, and G020E share the same 3.85V battery bay, connector pinout, and BMS handshake. One cell covers all three regional variants without modification.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this cell through charge and discharge cycles on a Pixel 3A unit. The BMS accepted the cell without throwing a hardware fault, and the fuel gauge IC initialised correctly on the first full cycle.
  • Fuel gauge recalibration on first use: After installation, disable fast charging and run one complete discharge-to-charge cycle at standard speed. This lets the fuel gauge IC build an accurate discharge curve against the new cell before high-current charging is introduced into an uncalibrated system.

Sudden shutdown at 20–30% after replacing the Pixel 3A battery

A new cell has a slightly different discharge curve than the aged cell the fuel gauge IC was trained on. When the phone loads the modem or screen at full brightness, voltage drops faster than the IC predicts — it reads a safe percentage but the cell voltage hits the cutoff floor. The result is an abrupt shutdown with charge still showing on screen. One full slow discharge-to-charge cycle forces the coulomb counter to recalibrate against the real curve of the new cell. After that cycle, shutdowns at 20–30% typically stop.

USB-PD fast charging not activating on the first cycle after swap

On the first charge after a cell swap, the Pixel 3A's charge IC sometimes stays in trickle or standard mode rather than negotiating the USB-PD fast charge contract. This happens because the IC enters a conservative mode when it cannot verify the new cell's state of health. Plug in the supplied or an 18W USB-PD charger and leave the phone untouched through a full charge to 100%. On the second and subsequent charges, the IC re-enters fast charge negotiation normally.

Frequently Asked Questions

My Pixel 3A keeps shutting off at around 25% after I put in the new battery — why?

The fuel gauge IC in the Pixel 3A was calibrated to the discharge curve of the original aged cell. The new cell's voltage drops at a different rate under modem or display load, so the IC underestimates how close the cell is to its cutoff voltage. Run one full discharge down to automatic power-off, then charge to 100% at standard speed without fast charging enabled. After that single recalibration cycle, the shutdowns at 20–30% should stop.

The battery percentage on my Pixel 3A is jumping around erratically after the replacement — is the cell faulty?

The coulomb counter hasn't mapped the new cell yet. It's still using the charge model from the old degraded battery, so small load spikes — like the modem connecting to a cell tower — cause the percentage reading to jump. This is a firmware-side recalibration lag, not a defective cell. Charge the phone to 100%, use it normally until it shuts off on its own from low battery, then charge back to 100% uninterrupted — the gauge IC will lock onto the correct curve by the end of that cycle.

The phone gets noticeably warm near the battery during the first few charges after the swap — should I be worried?

A new Li-Polymer cell has higher internal impedance than a well-used one that the charge IC is expecting. The charge IC compensates by pushing slightly more voltage during the constant-current phase, which generates more heat at the cell surface until it settles. This is normal for the first two to three charge cycles as the cell conditions. If the warmth persists past the third full charge or the phone becomes hot rather than warm, check that the battery connector is fully seated and the adhesive isn't trapping heat against the rear housing.
