Fits Motorola Moto G5S, XT1794, and Moto G6 XT1925-13 — replaces OEM HG30 battery.
3.8V and 2700mAh lithium-polymer cell matches original output for normal daily phone use.
Connector slots vertically into the battery bay with a single retention tab on the left edge.
We ran five full discharge-charge cycles on a Moto G5S; the fuel gauge IC accepted the new cell voltage curve without early cutoff or reporting errors.
On first use, run one complete discharge-to-shutdown and recharge cycle with standard charging only — this lets the phone's fuel gauge recalibrate to the new cell before enabling any fast-charge mode.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Motorola Moto G5S / G6 Series — 3.8V Li-Polymer Replacement Battery (HG30)

This is a 3.8V, 2700mAh Li-Polymer replacement battery for the Motorola Moto G5S, XT1794, Moto G6, and XT1925-13, among other compatible variants. It uses OEM part number HG30 and matches the original cell's voltage, capacity, and connector layout. If your G5S or G6 shuts down early or won't hold charge, swapping the cell is the fix.

  • G5S and G6 compatibility: These models share the HG30 form factor — same 3.8V rail, same flex connector, and the same BMS communication protocol. Swapping between G5S and G6 variants works because the charge IC on both boards reads the same cell parameters.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through charge and discharge on a G5S board. The BMS accepted the cell on first connection, held charge termination at 4.35V, and did not trigger an overcurrent cutoff during screen-on load.
  • Fuel gauge recalibration on first use: On first installation, disable fast charging and run one complete discharge-charge cycle at standard current. This lets the fuel gauge IC map the new cell's discharge curve before the charge IC starts pushing high current into an uncalibrated state.

Sudden shutdown at 20–30% on the G5S after a cell swap

This is a voltage cliff issue, not a capacity issue. Under combined modem and display load, the new cell's internal resistance causes the voltage to sag below the BMS cutoff threshold before the fuel gauge reaches 0%. The fuel gauge IC is still calibrated to the old cell's discharge curve, so it reads 25% while the actual cell voltage is already near 3.4V. One full discharge-charge cycle corrects the coulomb counter and eliminates these early shutdowns.

Fast charging not working on the first cycle after replacement

Motorola's adaptive charging protocol negotiates current limits with the charge IC based on cell state data. On a fresh cell with no cycle history, the charge IC defaults to a conservative current profile until the BMS has logged at least one full cycle. This is expected behaviour, not a fault with the replacement cell. After the first complete discharge-charge cycle at standard current, fast charge resumes normally on both G5S and G6 hardware.

Frequently Asked Questions

My Moto G5S shuts off at around 25% battery — did I get a bad replacement cell?

Almost certainly not a faulty cell. The fuel gauge IC is still mapped to your old cell's discharge curve, so it misreads the remaining capacity. Under modem or screen load, the actual cell voltage drops below the BMS cutoff before the counter hits zero. Run one full discharge to auto-off, then charge uninterrupted to 100% at standard charge speed — after that cycle the shutdowns stop.

My G6 has been charging for two hours and the percentage is jumping around erratically — is the battery faulty?

That's the coulomb counter recalibrating against the new cell, not a fault. The fuel gauge IC accumulated error data from the old degraded cell and is now correcting its model against the new discharge curve. It settles after one or two complete charge-discharge cycles. Do not interrupt the current charge cycle — let it reach 100% and then run a full discharge before charging again.

The phone won't turn on at all after the HG30 sat in storage — is the BMS locked out?

Yes, that's a BMS lockout. If the cell voltage dropped below approximately 2.5V during storage, the BMS trips into protection mode and blocks output. Connect the phone to a wall charger — not a PC USB port — and leave it for 20–30 minutes without pressing the power button. The charge IC trickle-charges the cell back above the BMS recovery threshold, after which the phone powers on normally.
