Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

ZTE Blade V Smart / Blade 20 Smart — 3.85V Li-Polymer Replacement Battery (Li3949T44P8h906450)
This is a 3.85V, 4900mAh (18.87Wh) Li-Polymer cell that replaces the original battery in the ZTE Blade V Smart, V1050, Blade 20 Smart, and Blade V2020 Smart. The OEM part number is Li3949T44P8h906450. If your phone shuts down unexpectedly, charges poorly, or won't hold power, this cell addresses a degraded or failed original unit.
- Blade V Smart and V2020 Smart series fitment: These models share a common battery bay geometry, connector pinout, and BMS handshake protocol. The Li3949T44P8h906450 cell is dimensioned at 86.70 × 62.75 × 5.00mm — any deviation causes housing pressure or connector misalignment, so confirm the OEM part number before ordering.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through charge and discharge on the Blade V Smart platform. The BMS accepted the charge handshake without fault codes on the first cycle, and cell voltage held stable under sustained screen-on and modem load.
- Fuel gauge recalibration on first cycle: On first use after installation, disable fast charging and run one complete discharge-to-charge cycle. The fuel gauge IC is calibrated to the old cell's discharge curve — letting it relearn against the new cell before high-current charging prevents percentage drift and premature low-battery warnings.
Sudden shutdown at 20–30% on the ZTE Blade V Smart after a cell swap
A new cell with an uncalibrated fuel gauge IC causes the phone to shut down well above 0% — typically between 15% and 30% reported charge. The coulomb counter still holds data from the old cell's voltage-capacity curve, so it misreads where the new cell's voltage cliff actually sits. Under modem transmit or screen-on load, the cell voltage drops faster than the IC predicts, and the phone cuts power to protect the circuit. Run one full discharge to automatic shutdown, then charge to 100% uninterrupted — after that cycle the IC maps the new cell and shutdowns at false percentages stop.
USB-PD or fast charge not activating on the first cycle after replacement
The ZTE charge IC negotiates fast-charge current with the BMS on the battery side before ramping voltage. On a freshly installed cell that hasn't completed a full cycle, the BMS can respond outside the expected timing window, causing the charge IC to fall back to standard 5V/1A input. This isn't a fault with the charger or the cable. Charge the phone once at standard rate to completion, then reconnect — the BMS sync completes correctly on subsequent cycles and fast charge activates at the correct voltage step.

Frequently Asked Questions
My ZTE Blade V Smart won't turn on after the replacement battery sat in a drawer for a few months — is it dead?
Likely not dead, but the BMS has locked out the cell due to deep discharge below approximately 2.5V. Connect the phone to a wall charger — not a PC USB port — and leave it for 20–30 minutes before attempting to power on. The charge IC trickle-charges a depleted cell to recover it before the BMS re-enables normal current flow. If the charging LED doesn't appear within 40 minutes, try a different cable and adapter to rule out current supply as the variable.
The battery percentage on my Blade V Smart jumps around erratically — it showed 45%, then jumped to 12% without warning. Is the new cell faulty?
The cell itself is almost certainly fine — this is the fuel gauge IC recalibrating against an unfamiliar discharge curve. The coulomb counter still holds learned data from the old cell and produces erratic readings until it maps the new one. Run two complete discharge-to-charge cycles without interruption, both times charging to 100% before unplugging. After the second cycle the percentage readings stabilise; erratic jumps of more than 5% at a time should stop entirely.
The Blade V Smart gets noticeably warm near the back during charging with the new battery — is something wrong?
Mild warmth during the first few charge cycles is normal. A new high-impedance cell causes the charge IC to work slightly harder to push current, generating more heat than it would with a broken-in cell. Keep the phone out of its case during the first two charges and charge on a flat, hard surface rather than a bed or sofa. If the back becomes hot enough to be uncomfortable to touch — above roughly 45°C — stop charging and check that the connector is fully seated, as a partially connected cell raises contact resistance and heat further.
