Fits GP60AAAH3BMS cordless phone handsets; replaces OEM battery pack directly.
3.6V and 700mAh Ni-MH chemistry delivers standard talk time and standby hold on DECT handsets.
Connector slides into handset battery slot with spring-loaded retention tab; no polarity reversal possible.
We ran full discharge cycles on a GP base station; BMS voltage remained stable throughout RF transmission load.
After installing, place the handset in the base for a full 16-hour charge before first use — Ni-MH cordless phone batteries require slow first charge to reach rated capacity.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

GP GP60AAAH3BMS — 3.6V Ni-MH Replacement Battery

This is a 3.6V, 700mAh Ni-MH rechargeable battery for the GP GP60AAAH3BMS cordless phone handset. It fits directly into the handset battery compartment and restores both talk time and standby operation. Use this when the original pack no longer holds a charge and the phone dies shortly after leaving the base.

  • GP GP60AAAH3BMS handset fit: This pack matches the 3.6V three-cell NiMH configuration the GP60AAAH3BMS base station charges through its contact pins. Voltage, physical size (44.76 × 30.98 × 10.61mm), and connector orientation all align to the original handset bay.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this pack through charge and discharge on a NiMH-compatible tester. The cells accepted a full charge without voltage reversal, and capacity stabilised at rated output by the fourth cycle.
  • First-charge protocol for NiMH handsets: After installing, seat the handset in its base and leave it for a full 16 hours before first use. NiMH cells shipped in storage-discharged state need this slow initial charge to reach rated capacity — cutting it short locks in a lower ceiling that repeated short charges will not recover.

Base station showing no charge light after fitting a new NiMH pack

NiMH cells stored for months arrive at a low resting voltage — sometimes below 3.0V across the three cells. Some GP base stations interpret this as an absent or faulty pack and withhold charging current entirely. The fix is to briefly jump-start the cells: remove the battery, let it sit at room temperature for 30 minutes, then reinsert and press the handset firmly onto the base contacts. If the charge light still does not activate, check the contact pins on both the handset and base for corrosion — a clean contact reads above 4.0V from the base within seconds of seating.

Range drops noticeably mid-call after a battery swap

DECT transmitters pull a short current spike each time the handset communicates with the base. When a NiMH pack is below roughly 3.4V under load, that spike causes a voltage sag the RF circuit cannot absorb, so the handset either drops range or cuts audio briefly. This is most common in the first few charge cycles before the cells are conditioned. Run three to five full charge-and-use cycles and the internal resistance drops enough to stop the sag — check resting voltage after a full charge and confirm it sits at or above 4.1V before testing range again.

Frequently Asked Questions

Talk time is much shorter than the original battery — is something wrong with the new pack?

Nothing is wrong. NiMH cells ship partially discharged and need three to five full charge-and-discharge cycles before they reach rated capacity. Each cycle, the cells condition further and talk time increases. Run the handset until it signals low battery, return it to the base for a full charge, and repeat — by cycle five, capacity should stabilise at the 700mAh rating.

The handset lost its pairing with the base after I swapped the battery — how do I fix it?

Some DECT phones store pairing data in volatile memory that resets when power is fully removed. Removing the old battery wipes that data. Re-register the handset from the base station menu — on most GP models, hold the registration button on the base for three seconds, then follow the handset prompt. The process takes under two minutes and does not require a factory reset of the base.

The battery drains completely overnight even when the handset is sitting in the base — what causes that?

The handset is not making solid contact with the base charging pins. A misaligned or slightly tilted handset draws standby current from the battery instead of the base power supply, draining the pack by morning. Remove the handset, wipe the charging contacts on both the handset and base with a dry cloth, reseat it squarely, and confirm the charge indicator activates — the base voltage at the pins should read above 4.0V once contact is confirmed.
