Fits Gtech Multi MK2 cordless vacuum and replaces OEM part number 1301A0002.
21.6V lithium-ion with 2500mAh capacity delivers consistent motor voltage under load on carpet and hard floors.
Battery slides into the dock with a single locking tab — connector alignment is keyed to prevent reverse insertion.
Bench testing showed stable BMS voltage during sustained suction cycles with no early cutoff or thermal throttle.
Do not leave this battery on the charging dock permanently — continuous trickle charge degrades lithium-ion capacity faster than charge-and-remove cycles.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Gtech Multi MK2 — 21.6V Li-ion Replacement Battery (1301A0002)

This 21.6V 2500mAh Li-ion battery replaces the original pack in the Gtech Multi MK2 and Multi MK2 K9 cordless vacuum cleaners. It also fits the ATF011 and Power Floor MK1 platforms. When the original cell loses hold, suction drops early — this pack restores full motor voltage across the cleaning cycle.

  • Multi MK2 and K9 platform fit: These models run the same 21.6V architecture with a shared connector footprint and BMS handshake. The K9 variant draws slightly harder through pet hair attachments, but the voltage rail and charge protocol are identical across the range.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran the pack through full charge and discharge cycles on the Multi MK2 dock. The BMS handled cutoff cleanly at low voltage and accepted the charger handshake without fault codes or charge refusal on the first connection.
  • Dock charging discipline for the Multi MK2: Do not leave this vacuum sitting on the dock continuously. Gtech cordless vacuums develop capacity fade noticeably faster under constant trickle charge. Charge to full, remove from the dock, and return it only when depleted.

Why the Multi MK2 loses suction before the battery indicator hits low

The battery indicator on the Multi MK2 reads cell voltage, not available capacity. As a Li-ion pack ages, internal resistance climbs. Under motor load, voltage sags below what the BMS needs to sustain full motor speed — even while the indicator still shows charge remaining. A new pack with low internal resistance holds voltage steady under load, so the motor gets consistent power from the first pass to the last.

Motor cuts out mid-clean then recovers after a few seconds

This is a BMS overcurrent trip, not a dead battery. When airflow is restricted — blocked filter, packed brush roll, or a sealed nozzle — the motor works harder and draws current above the BMS cutoff threshold. The BMS shuts down to protect the cells, then resets once current drops. Clean or replace the filter first. If the cut-out stops, the battery was not the problem. If it continues with a clear filter, check the brush roll for hair wrap before drawing any conclusion about the cell.

Frequently Asked Questions

My Gtech Multi MK2 suction drops off halfway through a room even though the battery light still shows full — is the battery going?

Yes, that's classic voltage sag from a degraded pack. Aged Li-ion cells have higher internal resistance, so voltage drops under motor load even when the indicator reads green. The indicator tracks resting voltage, not real performance under draw. Fit a replacement pack and the motor will hold full speed to the end of the run.

The Multi MK2 cuts out for a few seconds during use, then starts again on its own — what's triggering that?

That's the BMS tripping on overcurrent — usually caused by restricted airflow, not a failed battery. When the filter is blocked or the brush roll is packed with hair, the motor draws harder to maintain suction and pushes current past the BMS cutoff. Clean the filter and clear the brush roll first. If the cut-outs stop, the battery was never the fault; if they continue with clear airflow, the BMS in the old pack may be degraded and a replacement cell will resolve it.

I always leave my Multi MK2 on the charging dock — could that be why the battery fades so fast?

It almost certainly is. Continuous dock charging keeps the cells in a full-charge, trickle-topped state, which accelerates capacity fade in Li-ion chemistry faster than normal discharge cycling does. Charge the new pack to full, then lift it off the dock. Return it to charge only when suction noticeably weakens. That cycle pattern will preserve capacity significantly longer than permanent dock storage.
