Proscenic Cocoa Smart 790T / 780T — 14.8V Li-ion Replacement Battery (VR1717)

This is a 14.8V 2600mAh Li-ion replacement battery for the Proscenic Cocoa Smart 790T and 780T robotic vacuums, along with the Summer P3 and Summer P2s. It powers both the drive motors and the navigation system. Swap it in when the original cell no longer holds a charge or the vacuum shuts down early in a cleaning cycle.

• Cocoa Smart and Summer series compatibility: The 790T, 780T, Summer P3, and Summer P2s share the same 14.8V battery bay, connector pinout, and BMS communication protocol. One cell covers all of them.
• Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this cell through full charge and discharge cycles on a 790T chassis. The BMS negotiated handshake correctly, charge acceptance was normal, and the protection circuit tripped as expected at low-voltage cutoff without locking the pack.
• Dock charging habit for robotic vacuums: Do not leave the Cocoa Smart sitting on its dock between uses indefinitely. Continuous trickle charging on these platforms accelerates capacity fade. Charge to full, remove from the dock, and return it only when the battery needs a top-up.

Suction dropping before the battery indicator shows low on the 790T

The 790T's BMS monitors cell voltage under load, not just resting voltage. When a degraded cell hits its sag threshold under motor draw, the BMS throttles power before the indicator registers a low charge state. The vacuum appears to lose suction while the LED still shows partial charge. A fresh cell with lower internal resistance holds voltage under motor load, which eliminates the premature throttle.

Motor cutting out mid-cycle and then recovering after a few seconds

This is a BMS overcurrent trip, not a motor fault. On the Cocoa Smart platform, a partially blocked filter forces the motor to draw above its rated current to maintain airflow. The BMS detects the spike and cuts output to protect the cell. The pack resets automatically after a short thermal pause, which is why the vacuum restarts on its own. Clean or replace the filter first — if the cutouts stop, the battery is not the cause. If they continue with a clean filter, check that cell voltage at rest reads above 14.0V before condemning the pack.
