Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Haier S530 Series — 14.4V Li-ion Replacement Battery

This 14.4V, 2200mAh (31.68Wh) lithium-ion battery replaces the original cell in the Haier S530 and related notebook models. It fits the S500-I54200G40T01NDTS, S510, S520-N2940G40500RDTW, and additional S-series variants that share the same connector and voltage rail. Use product data capacity figures — 2200mAh — as the authoritative spec for this cell.

  • S-series notebook compatibility: These models share a common 14.4V four-cell Li-ion architecture, the same physical connector, and a BMS handshake that the host BIOS reads during POST. That shared platform is why a single cell works across the S500, S510, S520, and S530 variants.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran charge and discharge cycles on this cell and confirmed the BMS communicates state-of-charge correctly to the system. Charge acceptance was consistent across cycles, and the protection circuit triggered at the expected cutoff voltage under load.
  • Post-install calibration cycle: After fitting this cell, run the laptop down to hibernate cutoff, then charge uninterrupted to 100%. This resets the BIOS battery learn cycle and clears the false health warning that appears after most cell swaps on this platform.

BIOS reporting poor battery health immediately after fitting the new cell

The Haier S530 BIOS reads EEPROM data embedded in the old battery and caches it. When a new cell goes in, the firmware compares live readings against stale stored values and flags a mismatch as poor health. This is not a fault in the replacement cell. Run one full discharge-to-hibernate then a full uninterrupted charge to 100% — the BIOS learn cycle overwrites the cached EEPROM data and the health warning clears.

Laptop shuts down at 20–30% charge shown on screen

This happens because the fuel gauge IC is still calibrated to the old, degraded cell. The percentage shown is based on voltage curves from that worn cell, not the new one. Under full CPU plus display load, the new cell hits a voltage point the IC misreads as near-empty, triggering shutdown early. Complete two to three full discharge and charge cycles — the fuel gauge IC re-maps its curve to the new cell and the cutoff point corrects to below 5%.

Frequently Asked Questions

Why does my Haier S530 show "0% available (plugged in, charging)" right after I put the new battery in?

The fuel gauge IC is reading the new cell against calibration data built for the old one — the mismatch causes the OS to report 0% or an unknown state. This is an EEPROM carry-over issue, not a fault with the replacement cell. Plug in the AC adapter, let it charge fully to 100% uninterrupted, then discharge to hibernate cutoff. After one complete cycle the gauge re-initialises and reports correctly.

My S530 shuts itself off at around 25% — is the replacement cell faulty?

The cell is not faulty. The BIOS learn cycle is still calibrated to the voltage curve of the old, worn battery. When the new cell drops to the voltage the firmware associates with 25% on the old cell, it triggers a shutdown to protect against what it thinks is imminent deep discharge. Run two full discharge-to-hibernate and full recharge cycles without interruption — by the third cycle the BIOS recalibrates its cutoff threshold to the correct voltage for the new cell, typically around 10.8V under load.

System info shows the wrong Wh rating — it says something completely different from 31.68Wh. Is the battery mislabelled?

The Wh figure shown in system info is pulled from the EEPROM of the previous battery, not measured from the new cell. The actual rated capacity of this cell is 31.68Wh at 14.4V — that is the correct figure. The OS fuel gauge IC does not automatically re-read EEPROM on first boot after a swap. Complete one full discharge-to-hibernate followed by a full charge to 100%, and the reported Wh value will update to reflect the new cell's data.
