14.56V at 2600mAh delivers 37.86Wh — matches the original cell capacity for standard workload runtime between charges.
Connector slides onto the battery bay contact pins with a single locking tab that seats flush against the frame edge.
We ran a full discharge cycle on the Akoya E7415 motherboard — BMS voltage regulation stayed stable across the 14.56V discharge window with no early cutoff.
After installation, run one full discharge to hibernation then charge uninterrupted to 100% — this resets the BIOS battery learn cycle and clears inaccurate health warnings.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Medion Akoya E7415 Series — 14.56V Li-ion Replacement Battery (A41-D17)

This is a 14.56V, 2600mAh Li-ion replacement battery for the Medion Akoya E7415, E7415T, E7419, E7416, and related Akoya notebook models. It uses OEM part number A41-D17 and is also cross-referenced as D17LS9H, 40060854, A31-D17, and A42-D17. If your original battery no longer holds a charge or the laptop shuts down unexpectedly, this cell is a direct swap.

  • Akoya E7415 series compatibility: These Akoya models share the same 14.56V four-cell battery rail, connector pinout, and BMS handshake protocol. One cell covers all variants without wiring or adapter changes.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through charge and discharge on an Akoya E7415 chassis. The BMS communicated correctly with the EC, current tapered cleanly at full charge, and no protection trips fired during load.
  • First-cycle calibration on the Akoya: After installing, run one full discharge until the laptop hibernates, then charge uninterrupted to 100%. This resets the BIOS battery learn cycle and clears the inaccurate health warning that appears after swapping cells.

Why the Akoya E7415 reports poor battery health immediately after a cell swap

The Akoya's embedded controller reads health data cached from the old battery's EEPROM. When a new cell goes in, that cached data does not clear automatically — the EC simply reads stale figures and flags the battery as degraded. This is not a fault with the new cell. Running the full discharge-to-hibernate then uninterrupted charge cycle forces the EC to rewrite its learn table against the new cell's actual capacity. After one or two complete cycles, the health status normalises.

Akoya E7415 shutting down at 20–30% shown on the fuel gauge

This happens when the cell voltage drops below the EC's cutoff threshold under combined CPU and display load, even though the fuel gauge still shows charge remaining. The fuel gauge IC has not yet calibrated its discharge curve to the new cell's chemistry. The displayed percentage and actual voltage diverge until the IC completes two or three full calibration cycles. Run the laptop without plugging in until it hibernates — do not interrupt — and the gauge will tighten up, with shutdown aligning to roughly 10–12% or below 11.4V under load.

Frequently Asked Questions

The Akoya E7419 BIOS shows "Battery Unknown" or 0% right after fitting the new cell — is the battery dead?

No. The BIOS is reading stale EEPROM data left over from the old battery and has not yet profiled the new cell. Run a full discharge to hibernate-cutoff, then charge uninterrupted to 100% without using the laptop. After that single learn cycle, the BIOS battery status clears and reports normally.

Windows is showing the new battery at 37Wh but the system info screen says something different — which figure is correct?

The 37.86Wh figure in Windows comes from the cell's actual chemistry and the capacity we ship: 2600mAh at 14.56V. Some system info screens pull a rated Wh value written into the EEPROM at manufacture, which can differ from the measured figure. The Windows battery report — run "powercfg /batteryreport" in an admin command prompt — reflects the real capacity after the EC profiles the cell across a full cycle.

The Akoya E7415 stops charging at around 80% and never reaches 100% — is this a faulty cell?

In most cases this is the Medion BIOS charge-limit setting, not the cell. Some Akoya firmware activates a charge threshold to reduce cell wear, capping charge at 80%. Check the Medion power management utility or BIOS power settings for a "Battery Charge Threshold" or "Maximum Battery Charge" option and set it to 100%. If no such setting exists and the issue persists, verify the charger is delivering the correct voltage at the connector before assuming a cell fault.
