Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

HandHeld Nautiz X8 — 3.7V Li-ion Replacement Battery (162403210)
This is a 3.7V 6800mAh Li-ion battery for the HandHeld Nautiz X8 rugged mobile computer. It fits the Nautiz X8 used in logistics, inventory management, and field data collection. Part numbers 162403210, NX8-1004, BP14-001200, and BAT-G2-003 all cross-reference to this pack.
- Nautiz X8 platform fit: The X8 runs a single-cell 3.7V architecture shared across its hardware revisions. All listed OEM part numbers reference the same voltage rail, connector pinout, and BMS handshake protocol — one pack covers the platform.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this pack through scan-burst sequences and monitored the BMS response under combined wireless radio and imager draw. The protection circuit held stable at low state-of-charge without tripping into lockout during high-inrush trigger events.
- First-shift preparation on the Nautiz X8: After installing this pack, seat the X8 in its charging cradle and complete a full charge cycle before starting a pick-and-pack shift. The scan trigger pulls the highest inrush current when the cell is near minimum — a fully charged cell prevents false BMS trips on the first few scans of the day.
Cradle showing a charging error on the new pack
Charging docks on the Nautiz X8 read pack state through the contact pads on the battery base. If those contacts have oxidation, dust, or residue from a degraded old pack, the dock can misread the new cell's state and throw a charging fault. Wipe the gold contacts on the battery and the dock with a dry lint-free cloth, then reseat the unit firmly. If the error clears within 60 seconds, the contacts were the issue — not the pack or the dock firmware.
Scanner losing wireless connection during rapid scan bursts
The Nautiz X8 runs its wireless radio and its barcode imager simultaneously during fast scanning. Each scan trigger pulls a brief current spike on top of the constant radio polling load — the combined draw can cause momentary voltage sag on a weakened or deeply discharged cell. The BMS interprets that sag as an unsafe condition and reduces output, which briefly starves the radio and drops the connection. Charge the pack to full before a high-volume scan shift and check that the pack rests above 3.6V at idle before use.

Frequently Asked Questions
The Nautiz X8 imager fires but won't read barcodes after I swapped the battery — what's happening?
The imager needs minimum voltage to produce a clean read — if the new pack shipped partially discharged, the illumination level may be too low for the decoder to lock on. This is common on first use straight out of the box. Seat the X8 in its cradle and charge to full before testing the scanner. Once the cell is above 3.65V at rest, the imager output returns to normal operating level and reads should be consistent.
The scanner runs noticeably warm after a long shift — is that normal with this pack?
Sustained combined draw from the wireless radio and the barcode imager in the X8's enclosed housing generates heat that has nowhere to go quickly. This is a device thermal characteristic, not a cell fault. The pack itself should stay cool to the touch at the battery compartment — if the battery housing is hot rather than the top of the device, check that the battery cover is fully seated and not trapping heat against the cell. Confirm the battery surface stays below 40°C during a normal shift; anything above that warrants removing the pack and inspecting the contacts.
My Nautiz X8 scans fewer barcodes per shift than it did with the old battery at the same age — what's draining it faster?
Scan burst frequency and wireless polling interval both compound draw in ways a simple capacity number doesn't show. If the device is set to continuous Bluetooth polling rather than on-demand connect, the radio stays active between scans and adds a constant background drain. Check the wireless connection mode in the X8 settings and switch to on-demand or sleep-between-scans if the workflow allows it. That single change typically reduces idle draw enough to extend a shift noticeably without touching the hardware.
