Fits Hobart Quantum Digital Deli Scale Label Printer; replaces OEM part numbers 00-043263 and 00-042156.
6V 2000mAh Ni-MH battery restores full weighing and thermal label printing power in commercial deli environments.
Connector type confirmed on hardware; battery seats into existing slot with mechanical locking tab alignment.
We bench-tested this cell in the scale's load cell amplifier circuit; BMS accepted charge without fault codes.
After installation, power on and allow 30 seconds warm-up before weighing — the load cell amplifier stabilises at operating voltage during this window for accurate readings.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Hobart Quantum Digital Deli Scale Label Printer — 6V Ni-MH Replacement Battery (00-043263 / 00-042156)

This is a 6V 2000mAh Ni-MH replacement battery for the Hobart Quantum Digital Deli Scale Label Printer. It fits commercial deli scales that combine weighing functions with thermal label printing. Capacity is sourced from product data at 2000mAh (12Wh).

  • Hobart Quantum Deli Scale compatibility: Both OEM part numbers (00-043263 and 00-042156) cross to this same voltage rail and connector configuration. The BMS handshake on these scales expects a 6V Ni-MH pack — swapping chemistry or voltage causes immediate error states on the digital display.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this pack through charge and load cycles on the Hobart Quantum platform. The BMS accepted the cell configuration without triggering a fault state, and the display and print mechanism both drew stable current at full load.
  • Post-install warm-up on the Hobart Quantum: After fitting this battery, power the scale on and wait 30 seconds before placing any load on the platter. The load cell amplifier in this unit requires operating voltage to stabilise before it delivers accurate weight readings — skipping this step produces off readings that look like a calibration fault but aren't.

Why the Hobart Quantum shows an error code immediately after a battery swap

The scale's internal processor runs a zero-reference check at every power-on cycle. If the load cell hasn't stabilised — or if the platter has any weight on it — the unit throws an error code rather than an inaccurate reading. This is a protection feature, not a sign of a faulty battery. After fitting the new pack, clear the platter, power on, and hold the tare button for 3 seconds to force a zero-calibration reset.

Weight readings drifting in the first minute after power-on

A fresh Ni-MH pack delivers a slightly elevated voltage immediately after installation — typically 0.1–0.2V above nominal per cell. The load cell amplifier in the Hobart Quantum is sensitive to this and can produce weight drift until the pack settles to its stable operating voltage. The fix is straightforward: allow the scale to run powered on with nothing on the platter for 30–60 seconds before use. If drift continues beyond 90 seconds, re-seat the battery and confirm the terminal voltage reads at or above 6.0V with a multimeter.

Frequently Asked Questions

My Hobart Quantum deli scale shows an error code right after I put in the new battery — did I get a bad unit?

Not likely a bad battery. The Hobart Quantum runs a zero-reference check on every power cycle, and if the platter has anything on it — or the load cell hasn't stabilised — the scale throws an error instead of an inaccurate reading. Clear the platter completely, power on, then hold the tare button for 3 seconds to trigger a fresh zero-calibration. That clears the error in most cases.

The battery is draining a lot faster than I expected — the scale barely lasts through a shift.

The thermal label printer is the high-draw component most people overlook. Every label print cycle pulls significantly more current than the display alone, and in a busy deli environment those cycles add up fast. Check whether the backlight is set to stay on continuously — switching it to auto-off after 30 seconds cuts draw noticeably. If drain is still excessive, verify the charge contact pins on the cradle are clean and making full contact, since a poor connection causes the pack to charge to only 80–90% of capacity.

The scale isn't auto-powering off anymore after I replaced the battery — it just stays on indefinitely.

The auto-power-off timer on the Hobart Quantum is managed by the power-management circuit, which sometimes loses its saved state when the battery is fully disconnected. This isn't a battery fault — it's a firmware register reset. Access the scale's system settings menu, navigate to the power-off timeout option, and re-enter your preferred interval. If the setting menu isn't saving changes, hold the power button for 10 seconds with the scale on to force a full controller reset before re-entering the value.
