Fits Mindeo M60 handheld barcode scanner; replaces OEM HMD60 battery pack.
3.85V, 4650mAh Li-Polymer cell delivers sustained power for all-shift scan and wireless operations.
Connector slides vertically into M60 battery slot; locking tab secures pack flush against scanner body.
We bench-tested this cell in an M60 cradle through fifty full charge cycles; BMS accepted handshake on first dock without fault codes.
After installing, place the scanner in its cradle for one complete charge cycle before using in pick-and-pack operations.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Mindeo M60 — 3.85V Li-Polymer Replacement Battery (HMD60)

The HMD60 is a 3.85V, 4650mAh Li-Polymer cell that fits the Mindeo M60 handheld barcode scanner. The M60 is a mobile data capture device used in retail, logistics, and warehouse inventory workflows. This battery matches the original voltage and capacity spec to keep the scanner running through active scan shifts.

  • M60 platform fit: The M60 uses a dedicated battery bay with a fixed connector orientation and a BMS handshake that checks cell voltage on insertion. The HMD60 part number matches this handshake, so the scanner powers on without a BMS rejection error.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this pack through repeated scan-trigger and wireless polling loads. The BMS held stable across the draw spikes and did not trip into protection mode during high-frequency scan bursts.
  • First-shift prep for pick-and-pack: After installing this battery, seat the M60 in its charging cradle and run a full charge cycle before putting it on the floor. The scan trigger draws peak inrush current at low cell voltage — a fully charged cell prevents false BMS trips on the first shift's opening scans.

Cradle showing a charging error on a new HMD60 pack

A charging error on a freshly installed pack is almost always a contact resistance issue, not a faulty cell. The M60 cradle reads a handshake voltage through the battery contacts before it starts the charge cycle. If the dock contacts or the pack contacts have any film or debris on them, that signal drops below threshold and the cradle throws an error. Wipe all four contacts on both the battery and the cradle with a dry lint-free cloth, reseat the pack firmly, and the charge light should go solid within 10 seconds.

Scanner losing wireless connection during rapid scan bursts

During fast back-to-back scanning, the M60 pulls current simultaneously from the imager and the wireless radio. If the cell voltage sags under that combined load, the radio module drops its connection to the access point before the scanner itself powers off — the screen stays on but the link goes dead. This often points to a degraded original battery being pushed past its sag limit, not a scanner fault. Swap to the new HMD60 pack, confirm the cell is fully charged to 4.35V, and test with the same scan-burst cadence to confirm the connection holds.

Frequently Asked Questions

The M60 imager fires but won't read barcodes after I put in the new battery — what's wrong?

The imager needs a minimum supply voltage to fire at full intensity — if the new pack was shipped at storage charge (around 3.6–3.7V), the laser or LED output may be just below the threshold for a clean decode. This isn't a scanner fault. Seat the M60 in its cradle, charge the HMD60 pack fully to 4.35V, then retry — a fully charged cell gives the imager its full operating headroom and decode performance returns immediately.

The scanner gets noticeably warm after a few hours on a busy picking shift — is that normal?

Sustained heat in the M60 housing comes from the combined draw of the imager firing on every scan plus the wireless radio polling the access point continuously — both loads run through a compact, enclosed shell with limited airflow. Some warmth is normal. If the housing gets too hot to hold comfortably, check that the scan trigger isn't being held down between scans, as a stuck or partially depressed trigger keeps the imager active and drives up heat and current draw faster than normal burst scanning.

This battery lasted a full shift the first week, but now it runs out well before the shift ends — what changed?

Li-Polymer cells degrade faster when they are regularly discharged to near-zero before recharging — a shallow-cycle pattern where the pack goes flat every shift accelerates capacity fade. The fix is to top up the HMD60 pack in the cradle during breaks rather than running it to cutoff each time. If the pack is less than three months old and capacity has dropped sharply, check that the cradle contacts are clean — a dirty contact causes trickle charging instead of a full CC-CV cycle, and the pack never reaches a true full charge of 4.35V.
