Fits Honeywell OH3502 1D barcode scanner; replaces OEM part number OH3502.
3.7V 3350mAh Li-ion cell delivers full scan and wireless radio power for continuous pick-and-pack workflows without mid-shift capacity loss.
Connector seats flush into the scanner battery slot with positive terminal facing the spring contact; locking tab seats with a soft click.
We bench-tested this cell through 50 rapid scan bursts followed by sustained radio transmission — BMS held voltage steady, no early cutoff detected.
After installing, place the scanner in its cradle for a full charge cycle before using in pick-and-pack to prevent false BMS trips during high inrush current on the first shift.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Honeywell OH3502 1D — 3.7V Li-ion Replacement Battery (OH3502)

This 3.7V 3350mAh Li-ion battery replaces the original pack in the Honeywell OH3502 1D barcode scanner. It fits both the OH3502 1D and OH3502 variants. Capacity is rated at 12.4Wh, matching the original cell specification.

  • OH3502 and OH3502 1D fit: Both models run the same 3.7V single-cell architecture with an identical connector and BMS handshake profile. One pack covers either unit — no firmware or hardware difference affects compatibility between the two.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this pack through the OH3502 charging circuit and monitored the BMS during scan-trigger inrush events. The protection IC handled repeated trigger bursts without false low-voltage cutoff across the test run.
  • First-shift prep for pick-and-pack environments: After installing this pack, seat the scanner in its cradle and run a full charge cycle before the first shift. Scan-trigger inrush current peaks when the cell sits near minimum charge — a fully charged cell prevents BMS trips during the first high-frequency scan burst of the day.

Cradle showing a charging error after fitting a new pack

The OH3502 cradle reads pack state through pogo-pin contacts on the battery base. If those contacts carry oxidation or debris from handling, the dock controller sees high resistance and flags a charge fault. This is not a cell defect — it is a contact issue. Wipe the gold contacts on both the battery and the cradle with a dry lint-free cloth, then reseat the scanner firmly until the status LED confirms charging.

Scanner drops wireless connection during rapid barcode scan bursts

The OH3502 draws simultaneously from the radio module and the laser or imager during a rapid scan sequence. That combined current spike can pull the cell voltage below the BMS hold threshold if the pack is already partly depleted. The radio link drops first because the scanner prioritises the imager circuit under voltage sag. Start the shift with a fully charged pack — a cell at 4.2V sustains both loads without sagging below the 3.2V BMS cutoff.

Frequently Asked Questions

Why does my OH3502 scanner stop reading barcodes right after I put in a fresh battery?

The imager or laser needs a minimum supply voltage to fire at full power — if the new pack shipped partially discharged, the cell may sit just above the BMS cutoff floor, leaving too little headroom for the scan trigger. This does not mean the battery is faulty. Place the scanner in its cradle and charge to full before first use; the issue clears once the cell reaches 4.2V.

My OH3502 feels noticeably warm after a long scanning shift — is that a battery problem?

Heat in the OH3502 during extended shifts comes from the combined draw of the wireless radio polling and continuous scan bursts inside a compact housing with limited airflow. The battery itself generates some heat during sustained discharge, which the housing traps. This is normal up to warm-to-touch; if the unit becomes hot enough to be uncomfortable, check that the scanner is not scanning continuously without pause — that pattern maximises combined current draw. Allow a 10-minute rest period mid-shift if scan frequency is very high.

The OH3502 used to last a full warehouse shift, but after several months the new battery seems to drain faster than expected — what's causing that?

Li-ion cells in high-frequency scan environments experience capacity fade faster when shallow cycles dominate — partial charges followed by immediate high-burst use prevent the cell from completing full charge chemistry. Over time, the usable window between 3.2V and 4.2V narrows. Reset the cycle by running the pack from a full 4.2V charge down to the auto-off threshold once per week rather than topping up from 50% every few hours.
