Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.
Delivery and Shipping
Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

M3 Mobile UL20F / UL20 — 3.7V Li-ion Replacement Battery (UL20-BATT-F67)
This is a 3.7V, 6800mAh Li-ion battery built to replace the OEM pack in the M3 Mobile UL20F and UL20 rugged handheld computers. These devices run in retail, logistics, and warehouse environments where continuous scanning across full shifts is non-negotiable. The UL20-BATT-F67 part number is the direct reference for both the UL20F and UL20 variants.
- UL20F and UL20 compatibility: Both models share the same battery bay geometry, connector pinout, and BMS communication protocol. One pack covers both devices without modification.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this pack through full charge cycles on the UL20 platform and monitored BMS handshake, cell balance, and charge acceptance. The protection circuit responded correctly to over-discharge and over-temperature triggers throughout testing.
- First-shift preparation: After installing this pack, seat the UL20 in its cradle and run a complete charge cycle before starting pick-and-pack. The scan trigger draws a sharp inrush current, and a cell sitting below 30% charge is most vulnerable to a BMS trip on that first trigger pull. A full charge before the shift eliminates that failure point.
Cradle showing a charging error after fitting a new pack
The UL20 cradle reads battery state through pogo-pin contacts on the base of the device. If those contacts are dirty or the pack is not fully seated, the dock reports a fault even though the pack itself is fine. Carbon residue from the old battery and dust from warehouse environments both increase contact resistance past the threshold the dock's charge controller accepts. Wipe the gold contacts on both the battery and the cradle with a dry lint-free cloth, reseat firmly, and the charge indicator should clear within 30 seconds.
Scanner losing wireless connection during rapid scan bursts
During a fast scan sequence, the UL20 pulls current simultaneously from the imager, the wireless radio, and the processor. Combined inrush on a low or degraded cell can cause a momentary voltage sag that the radio interprets as a power fault, dropping the connection. This is more common when the replacement pack has not yet completed its first full charge cycle. Charge the pack to 4.2V before the first shift and the voltage rail stays stable under combined load, keeping the radio association intact.

Frequently Asked Questions
My UL20F won't read barcodes after I swapped the battery — the imager light comes on but nothing scans. What's happening?
The imager needs a minimum voltage threshold to fire at full intensity — if the new pack shipped partially discharged, the cell voltage may be just below what the UL20F's power rail requires for a clean read. This isn't a fault with the battery or the scanner. Place the device in the cradle and charge fully before attempting to scan. Once the pack reaches 4.2V, the imager will operate at rated power and scanning will resume normally.
The new battery feels noticeably warm after a few hours on the warehouse floor — is that normal?
Sustained scanning combined with an active wireless radio in the enclosed housing of the UL20 generates real heat, and some warmth is expected. The concern is if the pack becomes hot to the touch, which signals the BMS is working hard against a repeated high-draw cycle. We tested this pack under continuous scan-and-transmit load and found surface temperature stayed within normal range when the device was not enclosed in a holster during intensive use. If the pack feels hot rather than warm, allow the device to rest for 10 minutes and check that the cradle contacts are clean so charge recovery is not being impeded by high contact resistance.
The UL20 used to last a full shift on the old battery but this one seems to run out faster on the first few days — did we get a low-capacity pack?
New Li-ion cells often need two to three full charge and discharge cycles before they reach rated capacity — the 6800mAh figure applies to a conditioned cell, not a fresh one out of the box. Run the pack through complete charge cycles in the cradle without interrupting mid-charge, and capacity will stabilise. If shift endurance is still noticeably short after three cycles, check scan burst frequency and wireless polling interval in the device settings, as both directly reduce cell endurance on the UL20 platform.
