Dolphin cradles communicate with the battery pack through gold-plated dock contacts on the base of the scanner. Wipe the battery contacts and the cradle's dock pins with a dry lint-free cloth, then reseat the scanner firmly. If the error clears, the cell was fine — the connection was not.

The Dolphin 7900 runs both its wireless radio and its scan engine simultaneously during a fast-scan burst. That combined inrush can pull cell voltage down sharply if the pack is already below 7.0V. The radio subsystem is first to drop when voltage sags — it loses its keep-alive packet to the access point and disconnects. Charge the pack to full before a heavy-scan shift and check cell voltage is above 7.2V before deploying.
