Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.
Delivery and Shipping
Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

HP Sprocket 100 — 7.4V Li-Polymer Replacement Battery (P0562-LF)
This 7.4V 500mAh Li-Polymer battery replaces the internal cell in the HP Sprocket 100 portable photo printer. It fits the 2FR87A, 1AS90A, and 2FR86A model variants, along with 19 additional Sprocket configurations. Voltage and connector match the original P0562-LF specification exactly.
- Sprocket 100 series compatibility: These models share an identical battery bay, connector pinout, and BMS handshake protocol. The 7.4V rail powers both the paper feed motor and print head heating element from a single cell pack, so voltage tolerance across variants is tight.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this battery through full print jobs on a Sprocket 100 unit. The BMS held stable through the motor-start surge on paper feed and maintained consistent voltage delivery to the print head across multiple consecutive prints.
- First-use charge requirement: Charge this battery to 100% before running your first print job. The paper feed motor and print head heating cycle together draw peak current at the same moment. A partially charged cell can trip the BMS on the very first print, leaving the printer unresponsive until the battery is reset.
Why the Sprocket 100 stops mid-print on a new battery
The Sprocket 100 drives the paper feed motor and the ZINK print head simultaneously during each print cycle. This creates a combined current draw that briefly spikes above the BMS protection threshold if the cell voltage is below roughly 7.0V. The BMS interprets this spike as an overcurrent event and cuts output to protect the cell. Charge fully to 7.4V before the first print to prevent the BMS from tripping on that initial motor-start surge.
Print fading toward the bottom of the photo
Fading in the lower half of a print is a voltage sag symptom, not a paper or app issue. As the print progresses, sustained current draw to the ZINK print head causes cell voltage to drop, reducing the heat applied to the thermal dye layers. Less heat means weaker colour activation in the final print rows. If fading persists on a fully charged battery, check that the battery contacts are clean and seated flush — even a 0.1V drop at the connector is enough to affect print head temperature.

Frequently Asked Questions
My Sprocket 100 pairs with my phone but won't start printing — it just sits there after I tap print. What's wrong?
This is almost always a low-voltage BMS trip, not a connectivity fault. The paper feed motor draws a sharp current spike the moment a print job starts, and if the battery isn't fully charged, the BMS cuts output before the first sheet moves. Charge the battery to 100%, then force-close the HP Sprocket app and reopen it to clear any queued job state. Try printing again — the printer should respond within three seconds of tapping print.
My photos are coming out with a faded stripe or colour shift halfway through the print. The battery is new. What causes that?
Mid-print fading is caused by voltage sag at the ZINK print head. As the print cycle runs, sustained current draw pulls cell voltage down, reducing the heat the print head delivers to the thermal dye layers — cooler means less colour activation. Check that the battery is seated fully and the gold contacts are free of debris, because a partial contact adds resistance and worsens the sag. If the fault persists after cleaning the contacts, do a full charge cycle and retest before assuming the cell is faulty.
After fitting the new battery, my phone can't find the Sprocket 100 at all — Bluetooth scanning shows nothing.
The Sprocket 100 resets its Bluetooth advertising state after a power interruption, including a battery swap. It does not automatically re-advertise to previously paired devices. On your phone, go to Bluetooth settings, find the Sprocket 100 in your saved devices list, tap "Forget" or "Unpair," then hold the printer's power button until the LED flashes to enter pairing mode. Open the HP Sprocket app and pair from scratch — the app will re-establish the connection and your print history will remain intact.
