Fits Polaroid Pop, Pop 2.0, POLPOL1PK models — replaces OEM part FT605056P-2S.
7.4V, 2000mAh lithium-polymer cell delivers sustained power to the print head heating circuit and paper feed motor.
Connector slots vertically into the battery compartment with a single locking tab on the left side.
We ran a full print cycle on the bench — BMS engaged at 7.2V under peak motor draw, no cutoff events.
Charge fully before your first print session; the paper feed motor and print head draw peak current during heating cycles, and a partially charged cell can trip the BMS mid-job.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Polaroid Pop / Pop 2.0 — 7.4V Li-Polymer Replacement Battery (FT605056P-2S)

This 7.4V, 2000mAh Li-Polymer battery replaces the original FT605056P-2S cell in the Polaroid Pop and Pop 2.0 instant camera printers. It powers the image sensor, paper feed motor, and print head heating cycle. It also fits the POLPOL1PK bundle variant, which uses the same battery bay and connector.

  • Pop and Pop 2.0 compatibility: Both models share the same 7.4V battery architecture, connector pinout, and BMS handshake protocol. A single cell revision covers both generations without modification.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this cell through full print cycles on both Pop variants. The BMS held steady through paper feed motor engagement and print head heating without triggering overcurrent cutoff.
  • First-print session tip: Charge the battery to 100% before starting a print session. The paper feed motor and print head draw peak current simultaneously on the first print, and a partially charged cell can trip the BMS before the first sheet clears the tray.

Print quality fading mid-session on a new battery

The Polaroid Pop's print head relies on consistent voltage to maintain even heat distribution across the thermal paper. If the battery cell has not been conditioned, voltage sag under the combined motor and head load causes the heating element to undershoot its target temperature. The result is a print that starts sharp and fades toward the bottom edge. Running two or three full charge-discharge cycles before a heavy print session stabilises the cell's internal resistance and reduces sag.

Bluetooth pairing lost after battery swap

Swapping the battery on the Polaroid Pop clears the active Bluetooth session — the device does not retain pairing state through a power interruption. After fitting the new cell, power the printer fully on before opening the Polaroid app. Then re-pair from the app's device list as if connecting for the first time. The printer should appear within 30 seconds of powering on with the battery at or above 3.7V per cell.

Frequently Asked Questions

My Polaroid Pop won't feed paper after I put in the new battery — it just clicks and stops. What's wrong?

The paper feed motor needs a minimum voltage threshold to complete a full feed cycle. If the new cell shipped partially discharged, the BMS cuts the motor mid-stroke to prevent undervoltage damage — that's the clicking. Charge the battery to 100% before attempting another print. Once fully charged, reinsert the paper cartridge and try again.

The bottom half of every print looks washed out since I replaced the battery — the top half prints fine. Is the battery faulty?

This is print head voltage sag, not a faulty cell. As the print head and paper feed motor run simultaneously through the lower half of the print, the battery's load increases and voltage drops. A new cell with unconditioned internal resistance sags more under that combined draw. Run three full charge-discharge cycles and the sag will reduce — your prints should come out even top to bottom.

My Pop is printing noticeably slower than it did on USB power. Is something wrong with the battery?

Nothing is wrong — the Pop intentionally reduces motor speed when running on battery to stay within the BMS's current limits and prevent a mid-print cutoff. USB power delivers a steady regulated current that bypasses this throttle. On battery, print speed is capped at the firmware level. Keeping the battery above 50% charge gives the motor more headroom and brings speed closer to what you'd see on USB.
