Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.
Delivery and Shipping
Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Huawei P9 Plus — 3.82V Li-Polymer Replacement Battery (HB376883ECW)
This is a 3400mAh Li-Polymer cell at 3.82V nominal, built to replace the original battery in the Huawei P9 Plus and P9 Plus Dual SIM variants. It covers OEM references HB376883ECW, HB376883EBW, HB376783ECW, and HB376883EBC. Physical dimensions are 81.10 × 67.30 × 3.60 mm — confirm your original cell matches before fitting.
- P9 Plus and Dual SIM coverage: The VIE-L29 platform — including standard, Dual SIM, and TD-LTE variants — shares the same battery bay dimensions, connector pinout, and BMS handshake protocol. One cell fits all variants listed above without any hardware modification.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through full charge and discharge on P9 Plus hardware. The BMS accepted the cell without fault flags, and the charge IC held a steady taper current to 4.40V at end of charge — consistent with Huawei's high-voltage Li-Polymer spec.
- Fuel gauge recalibration on first use: On first use after installation, disable fast charging for one complete discharge-charge cycle. This lets the fuel gauge IC recalibrate its coulomb counter against the new cell's discharge curve before high-current fast charging pushes current into an uncalibrated cell.
Sudden shutdown at 20–30% on the P9 Plus after a cell swap
A fresh cell has a steeper voltage-versus-capacity curve than a worn cell. The fuel gauge IC — still calibrated to the old cell — misjudges how much charge is left. When the modem fires a high-power transmission burst or the screen peaks brightness, the cell voltage sags below the shutdown threshold before the OS registers low battery. Running one full discharge to 3% and a complete recharge without fast charging resets the coulomb counter to the new curve and eliminates the premature cutoff.
USB fast charge not triggering on the first cycle after replacement
Huawei's proprietary fast charge protocol — FCP — requires the charge IC to negotiate voltage and current with the charger after reading internal resistance from the new cell. On a brand-new cell, internal resistance is slightly elevated from factory storage, and the charge IC may default to standard 5V/1A input as a precaution. This typically resolves after the first full charge cycle as the cell conditions and internal resistance settles. If fast charge still does not activate after two cycles, check that cell voltage at rest is above 3.6V before connecting the charger.

Frequently Asked Questions
My P9 Plus shows 25% battery and then just switches off without warning — is the new cell faulty?
The cell is almost certainly fine. The fuel gauge IC is still running calculations against the old cell's discharge curve, so it misjudges the voltage cliff where the cell can no longer sustain load from the modem or display. Run one full discharge down to 3% and charge back to 100% with fast charging disabled — this forces the coulomb counter to recalibrate to the new cell. After that cycle, the shutdowns should stop.
The battery percentage on my P9 Plus jumps around erratically after I fitted the replacement — it went from 60% to 44% in two minutes without me doing anything.
This is the fuel gauge IC recalibrating. It was trained on hundreds of cycles of data from your old, degraded cell and is now seeing voltage readings that do not match its stored discharge curve. The IC corrects by jumping the displayed percentage to match the actual open-circuit voltage. Complete two full discharge-charge cycles without fast charging and the percentage readout will stabilise as the IC builds a new curve against the replacement cell.
My P9 Plus won't turn on at all after the replacement battery sat in a drawer for a few months before I installed it — the screen stays blank even on charge.
Li-Polymer cells self-discharge in storage. If the cell dropped below approximately 2.5V per cell during storage, the BMS enters lockout mode and blocks current flow to protect the cell from damage. Connect the phone to its original charger and leave it for 30–40 minutes without pressing the power button — the charge IC trickle-charges the cell at a very low current rate to bring it back above the BMS re-enable threshold of around 3.0V. Once it recovers, the phone should power on normally.
