Fits Oppo R9 and R9 Dual SIM models; replaces OEM battery BLP609.
3.8V and 2850mAh capacity restores full charge cycles on the R9 platform.
Connector seats flat against the phone's battery contact strip with no locking tab.
We bench tested the BLP609 cell on Oppo's native charger; BMS accepted charge without fault codes.
On first use after installation, disable fast charging for one complete discharge-charge cycle so the fuel gauge IC recalibrates against the new cell's discharge curve before high-current charging resumes.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Oppo R9 Series — 3.8V Li-Polymer Replacement Battery (BLP609)

The BLP609 is a 3.8V, 2850mAh (10.83Wh) Li-Polymer cell for the Oppo R9, R9 Dual SIM, R9 Dual SIM TD-LTE 64GB, and R9tm. It replaces a degraded original cell when the phone can no longer hold charge, shuts down unexpectedly, or swells. Voltage and capacity match the original spec exactly.

  • R9 series compatibility: All R9 variants listed share the same battery bay dimensions, flex connector pinout, and BMS handshake protocol. The 83.20 × 64.20 × 3.60mm cell envelope fits all of them without modification.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through full charge and discharge on R9 hardware, confirmed BMS communication, and verified the charge IC accepted the cell without thermal fault or premature cutoff.
  • Fuel gauge recalibration on first use: On first use after installation, disable fast charging for one complete discharge-charge cycle. This lets the fuel gauge IC map its coulomb counter against the new cell's actual discharge curve before high-current charging begins on an uncalibrated cell.

Sudden shutdown at 20–30% after fitting the new cell

This is a voltage cliff problem, not a capacity problem. Under modem transmission or screen-on load, current draw spikes and the new cell's voltage drops faster than the fuel gauge IC expects — the system interprets this as a dead battery and cuts power. The fuel gauge is still running its calibration against the old cell's discharge curve stored in firmware. One full discharge-charge cycle with fast charging off rewrites the curve and eliminates the false cutoff.

Phone won't power on after the replacement cell sat in storage

Li-Polymer cells in storage self-discharge below 2.5V per cell, which triggers BMS lockout to prevent damage. A phone in this state will show nothing on screen and won't respond to the power button. Connect it to a charger for at least 20–30 minutes before attempting to power it on — the charge IC needs to trickle-charge the cell back above the BMS re-enable threshold of approximately 2.8V before normal charging and startup can proceed.

Frequently Asked Questions

My Oppo R9 keeps shutting off at around 25% charge after I put in the new battery — is something wrong with the cell?

Nothing is wrong with the cell. The fuel gauge IC inside the R9 stores a discharge curve calibrated to your old, degraded battery, and the new cell hits a voltage drop under load that the IC misreads as empty. Run one full discharge down to auto-shutdown, then charge uninterrupted to 100% with fast charging disabled. After that single cycle the coulomb counter recalibrates and the false cutoffs stop.

The battery percentage is jumping around after the swap — it was at 60%, then jumped to 45%, then back to 55% within a few minutes. What causes that?

The fuel gauge IC is recalibrating. It still has the old cell's capacity model in memory and has not yet mapped actual voltage readings to real charge levels on the new cell. Erratic percentage readings are normal for the first one or two cycles after a cell swap. Complete one full discharge-charge cycle without fast charging and the IC will lock onto the new cell's curve — after that, percentage readings stabilise.

Fast charging stopped working on my R9 after I replaced the battery. The phone charges, but slowly.

On the first cycle after a cell swap, the Oppo charge IC runs a conservative profile on an unrecognised cell — it defaults to standard charge current until the BMS has completed at least one full cycle and confirmed thermal and voltage behaviour. This is expected behaviour, not a fault. Charge to 100%, discharge fully, then charge again — fast charging re-enables once the IC accepts the new cell's BMS handshake on the second cycle.
