This is a 3.7V, 1500mAh Li-ion cell built to fit the Huawei U8220 and a range of compatible Huawei handsets including the U9120, C8600, and CHT8000. It replaces OEM part numbers HB4F1, HWBAF1, and BLT005. The cell slots into the same battery bay and connects to the same charge IC and fuel gauge as the original.

Why the U8220 reports wrong battery percentage after a cell swap

The U8220 uses a fuel gauge IC that builds its state-of-charge model from the discharge curve of the installed cell. When you fit a new cell, the IC still references the curve it learned from the old, degraded cell. This mismatch causes the reported percentage to diverge from the actual cell voltage — sometimes significantly. One full discharge down to automatic shutdown, followed by a full charge to 100%, forces the IC to replot its curve against the new cell. After that single cycle, percentage reporting stabilises.

Sudden shutdown at 20–30% on the U8220 after replacement

This happens when the cell voltage drops sharply under load — modem transmission bursts and screen-on draw together can pull enough current to collapse voltage below the BMS cutoff threshold even while the fuel gauge still shows charge remaining. It is a voltage-cliff behaviour, not a capacity fault. Check that the battery contacts on the handset chassis are clean and making full contact — a high-resistance connection worsens voltage sag under peak load. If the shutdowns persist after one full calibration cycle, confirm the resting cell voltage sits above 3.6V when the gauge reads 30%.
