Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.
Delivery and Shipping
Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

INQ Chat 3 / Chat 3G — 3.7V Li-ion Replacement Battery
This is a 3.7V, 1500mAh Li-ion replacement battery for the INQ Chat 3 and Chat 3G smartphones. It slots into either handset and restores power where the original cell has degraded past usable capacity. Voltage and physical dimensions match the factory spec exactly: 65.23 × 41.98 × 5.21mm.
- Chat 3 and Chat 3G compatibility: Both models share the same battery bay dimensions and 3.7V supply rail. The connector pinout and BMS handshake protocol are identical across the two variants, so one cell covers both.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through charge and discharge on the Chat 3 platform. The BMS accepted the charge profile without interruption, and the protection circuit tripped correctly at the low-voltage cutoff threshold — no false trips under normal screen and radio load.
- Fuel gauge recalibration on first use: Disable any fast-charge mode for the first complete discharge-to-charge cycle after fitting this cell. The fuel gauge IC on these handsets was calibrated to the original cell's discharge curve. One full cycle at standard current lets it remap to the new cell before high-current charging begins.
Sudden shutdown at 20–30% on the INQ Chat 3 after a cell swap
The Chat 3's fuel gauge IC holds a discharge curve learned from the original cell. A new cell has a different internal resistance profile, so the voltage reading the IC sees diverges from the actual state of charge. Under modem or display load — both high-current draws on this platform — the cell voltage dips sharply at a point the IC has not yet mapped. The phone interprets that dip as a hard low-voltage event and shuts down, even though usable charge remains. One full discharge-to-zero then a full charge at standard current resets the coulomb counter and eliminates most of these false shutoffs.
INQ Chat 3 reporting erratic or frozen battery percentage after replacement
Percentage jumping from 60% to 30% in minutes — or locking at one figure for hours — points to the fuel gauge IC reading from a stale discharge table. The IC does not automatically discard its stored curve when a new cell is fitted. It keeps projecting percentage against the old degraded cell's behaviour. Run the phone down until it shuts itself off at the low-voltage cutoff (typically around 3.0–3.2V terminal voltage), then charge uninterrupted to 100%. That single cycle forces the IC to recalculate against the new cell and stabilises the percentage readout.

Frequently Asked Questions
My INQ Chat 3 keeps switching off when the battery shows around 25% — is the replacement cell faulty?
It is not faulty. The fuel gauge IC on the Chat 3 was calibrated to the original cell's discharge curve, and a new cell has a lower internal resistance, so the voltage readings diverge under load. When the modem or screen pulls current, the IC sees a voltage dip it maps to near-empty and triggers a shutdown. Run the phone down until it cuts off on its own, then charge it fully in one uninterrupted session — that resets the coulomb counter against the new cell's actual curve.
The phone won't turn on at all after the replacement battery has been sitting in a drawer for a few months — is there a way to recover it?
Yes. If the cell dropped below roughly 2.5V during storage, the BMS has entered lockout to prevent cell damage, and the phone will not respond to a power button press. Connect it to a wall charger — not a USB port — and leave it for 20–30 minutes without pressing anything. The charge IC will trickle current into the cell until it clears the BMS lockout threshold, after which normal charging resumes. If the charge indicator light never appears after 45 minutes on a wall adapter, check the charging cable and port contacts first.
The INQ Chat 3 feels warm near the battery compartment while charging the new cell — is that normal?
Some warmth on the first few charge cycles is expected. A fresh cell has higher impedance than a worn one, so the charge IC dissipates slightly more energy as heat while the cell conditions. It should stay mild — warm to the touch, not hot. If the handset becomes uncomfortable to hold or the warmth persists past the third full charge cycle, remove it from the charger and inspect the battery contacts for debris or misalignment, then retry with the phone on a flat, uncovered surface.
