Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.
Delivery and Shipping
Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

K-Touch U86 / E616 — 3.7V Li-ion Replacement Battery (TBW5931)
This is a 3.7V, 1600mAh Li-ion cell replacing the original TBW5931 battery in the K-Touch U86 and E616 smartphones. It fits the existing battery bay without modification. Voltage and physical dimensions match the OEM spec exactly.
- U86 and E616 platform fit: Both models share the TBW5931 footprint — same 60.48 × 56.85 × 4.50 mm envelope, same 3.7V nominal rail, and the same three-contact connector layout. One cell covers both devices.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through charge, standby draw, and screen-on load. The BMS held cutoff at the correct low-voltage threshold and did not trip under normal display and modem current draw.
- Fuel gauge recalibration on first use: On first installation, disable fast charging if the option is available and run one full discharge down to auto-off, then charge uninterrupted to 100%. This gives the fuel gauge IC one complete cycle to map the new cell's discharge curve before reporting accurate percentages.
Sudden shutdown at 20–30% on the replacement cell
This is a voltage cliff problem, not a capacity defect. When the modem transmits or the screen peaks in brightness, current draw spikes sharply. A new cell with an uncalibrated fuel gauge IC can hit the BMS low-voltage cutoff — typically around 3.0V per cell — while the OS still shows 20–30% remaining. The reported percentage and the actual cell voltage are out of sync. One full discharge-to-auto-off cycle followed by an uninterrupted charge to 100% resyncs the coulomb counter and eliminates most cliff shutdowns.
OS percentage jumping erratically after swap
The fuel gauge IC on the K-Touch U86 learns cell behaviour from charge and discharge history stored against the old cell's impedance profile. After a cell swap, that stored profile no longer matches the new cell, so the reported percentage bounces — sometimes gaining or losing 10–15% in seconds. This is not a fault with the replacement cell. Run two complete discharge and charge cycles without interrupting the charge phase, and the IC rebuilds an accurate model against the new cell. After the second cycle, percentage readings stabilise; verify by checking that the phone reads above 4.1V at reported 100%.

Frequently Asked Questions
The phone powers on for a second then immediately shuts off — new battery installed yesterday
This is a BMS lockout from deep discharge. If the replacement cell sat in storage and dropped below 2.5V, the BMS trips a protection state and refuses to supply current to the board. Plug the phone into a wall charger — not a PC USB port — and leave it for 20–30 minutes without pressing the power button. The charge IC trickle-charges the cell back above the BMS recovery threshold, typically 2.9–3.0V, at which point the phone will boot normally.
Fast charging stopped working the first time I charged the new battery — slower than it was before
The proprietary charge protocol handshake between the charger and the phone's charge IC can fail on the first cycle with a new cell because the BMS presents a different impedance profile than the depleted original. Disconnect the charger, power the phone off completely, reconnect the charger, and allow one full charge cycle to complete without interrupting it. On the second charge cycle the handshake re-establishes correctly and fast charge resumes. Confirm by checking that the phone feels warm near the battery bay during charging — that indicates full charge current is flowing.
Phone feels noticeably warm near the battery during the first few charges — is that normal?
Yes, and it is specific to the first few cycles on a new cell. A fresh Li-ion cell has slightly higher internal impedance than a broken-in one, so the charge IC dissipates more energy as heat while pushing current into it. Surface temperature at the battery bay running 2–4°C above normal is within spec. If the phone triggers a thermal warning on-screen or becomes too hot to hold comfortably, stop the charge, let it cool to room temperature, and resume — that level of heat indicates a charge IC fault rather than normal break-in behaviour.
