Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Kokido Vektro Z200 — 7.4V Li-ion Replacement Battery (BST-58482)
This 7.4V 3350mAh Li-ion battery replaces the original BST-58482 cell in the Kokido Vektro Z200 robotic pool cleaner. It powers the drive motors and control board that handle autonomous floor and wall cleaning cycles. Capacity matches the factory spec at 24.79Wh.
- Vektro Z200 motor and control compatibility: The Z200 runs a shared voltage rail feeding both the brushless drive motor and the navigation controller. Both systems draw from the same 7.4V cell, so any voltage sag under motor load hits the controller too — causing erratic path behaviour or mid-cycle shutdowns. This replacement holds the same cell configuration to keep both systems stable under load.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through full cleaning loads and monitored BMS response during sustained motor draw. The protection circuit held cutoff thresholds consistent with the OEM cell across repeated drain-and-charge cycles.
- Post-cycle charging practice for pool robots: After each cleaning cycle, charge the battery fully, then disconnect from the charger. The Z200 sits idle between pool sessions — leaving it on charge during that downtime accelerates capacity fade faster than normal cycling does.
Why the Vektro Z200 loses suction pressure before the battery indicator drops
The Z200's impeller motor pulls more current when the filter mesh is partially blocked — even light debris buildup increases restriction. Under that elevated draw, cell voltage sags below the motor's efficient operating range while the indicator still reads mid-charge. The motor slows and suction pressure drops noticeably before the BMS triggers low-voltage cutoff. Rinse the filter after every session to keep motor draw within the cell's rated output band.
Z200 cuts out mid-cycle then restarts on its own
This is a BMS overcurrent trip, not a failed battery. When the impeller encounters a sustained blockage — debris wedged against the intake or a clogged filter — current draw spikes past the protection circuit threshold and the BMS disconnects the load. The robot stops, the BMS resets after a few seconds, and the cycle resumes until the blockage triggers another trip. Clear the intake and filter, then check resting cell voltage — a healthy cell at partial charge should read above 7.0V after the trip recovers.

Frequently Asked Questions
My Vektro Z200 is losing suction halfway through a cycle but the battery light still shows green — what's going on?
A partially blocked filter forces the impeller motor to work harder, pulling more current than the cell is rated to deliver at that charge level. Voltage sags under the elevated draw, the motor slows, and suction drops — all before the indicator registers low. Clean the filter mesh and check the intake for debris, then rerun the cycle. If suction holds after cleaning, the battery is fine; if it still sags, measure resting cell voltage — it should read above 7.0V between cycles.
The Z200 stops mid-clean, sits still for a few seconds, then starts moving again — keeps happening repeatedly.
The BMS is tripping on an overcurrent spike caused by a sustained blockage at the intake or impeller. When the motor fights restricted flow, current exceeds the protection circuit's threshold and it cuts the load. The BMS self-resets in seconds and the robot restarts, but the trip will repeat until the cause is cleared. Remove the battery, clear any debris from the intake and impeller housing, rinse the filter, then reinstall and restart — the cycle should complete without interruption.
I replaced the battery with this new one but the Z200 won't charge — the charger light just stays the same colour.
Some robotic cleaner chargers expect a BMS handshake before initiating the charge cycle — if the cell voltage has dropped very low in storage, the BMS may not respond correctly on first connection. Connect the charger and leave it for 15–20 minutes without interrupting it; the BMS on deeply discharged Li-ion cells sometimes requires a trickle pre-charge phase before the main charge current starts. If the charger light changes to indicate active charging during that window, the cell is recovering normally. If it shows no change at all after 20 minutes, verify the charger output is 8.4V — that is the correct full-charge voltage for a 7.4V Li-ion cell.
