Fits Kyocera Hydro Edge and C5215 models; replaces OEM part SCP-54LBPS.
This 3.7V, 1300mAh cell restores full runtime on the Hydro Edge after original capacity fades.
Connector seats flat into the battery slot with a standard locking tab — no adapter needed.
We bench-tested the cell on discharge cycles; the BMS held voltage curve steady under sustained modem load.
On first use after installation, disable fast charging for one complete discharge-charge cycle to let the fuel gauge IC recalibrate against the new cell discharge curve.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Kyocera Hydro Edge / C5215 — 3.7V Li-ion Replacement Battery (SCP-54LBPS)

This is a 3.7V, 1300mAh Li-ion cell replacing the OEM SCP-54LBPS battery in the Kyocera Hydro Edge and C5215 smartphones. It matches the original form factor and connects directly to the device's charge IC and fuel gauge circuit. Install it when the original cell no longer holds a useful charge across a normal day.

  • Hydro Edge and C5215 compatibility: Both models run the same 3.7V single-cell architecture with an identical connector and BMS handshake protocol. One cell fits both.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through charge and discharge on a Hydro Edge unit. The BMS accepted the cell without error flags, and the charge IC completed a full constant-current to constant-voltage transition at 4.2V as expected.
  • Fuel gauge recalibration on first use: After installing this cell, run one complete discharge to around 5% before charging to 100%. This gives the Kyocera fuel gauge IC a full sweep of the new cell's discharge curve. Skipping this step causes the OS to report percentages calibrated to the old degraded cell.

Why the Hydro Edge reports wrong battery percentage after a cell swap

The Hydro Edge uses a coulomb-counter fuel gauge IC that learns the cell's capacity over charge cycles. When you swap in a new cell, the IC still holds the old cell's learned parameters — so the percentage readout is mapped to a degraded capacity baseline, not 1300mAh. The phone may show 50% when the cell is actually near full, or drop from 30% to 0% without warning. One full discharge-to-charge cycle forces the IC to relearn against the new cell curve and corrects the readout.

Sudden shutdown at 20–30% on the replacement cell

This happens when the modem or display pulls a current spike that drops the cell voltage below the BMS cutoff threshold — typically around 3.0V — even though the gauge still shows charge remaining. A new cell that hasn't been calibrated to the fuel gauge IC is most vulnerable to this on the first few cycles. Run the recalibration cycle first: discharge to 5%, charge uninterrupted to 100%, then repeat once more. After two full cycles, the fuel gauge tracks the actual voltage floor accurately and the shutdowns stop.

Frequently Asked Questions

My Hydro Edge switched off at 25% right after I put the new battery in — is the cell faulty?

This is a fuel gauge calibration issue, not a faulty cell. The coulomb-counter IC in the Hydro Edge is still mapped to your old degraded cell's discharge curve, so it misreads the voltage floor of the new 1300mAh cell under modem load. Drain the phone to around 5%, then charge it to 100% without interruption. After one or two full cycles the IC relearns the curve and the premature shutdowns stop.

The phone won't turn on at all after the new battery sat in a drawer for a few months — what happened?

Li-ion cells self-discharge in storage, and if the cell dropped below approximately 2.5V, the BMS locked out the cell to prevent damage. The phone won't boot because the BMS is blocking current flow entirely. Connect the phone to a wall charger — not a USB port — and leave it for 20–30 minutes without pressing any buttons. The charge IC trickle-charges the cell back above the BMS unlock threshold, after which the phone should power on normally.

Fast charging stopped working after I swapped this battery in — my charger worked fine before.

On the first charge cycle after a cell swap, the Hydro Edge charge IC can fall back to standard charging while it validates the new cell's impedance profile. This is normal behaviour and not a charger or battery fault. Complete one full standard charge to 100%, then unplug and reconnect your fast charger — the charge IC will accept the higher current rate once it has a baseline reading on the new cell.
