Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.
Delivery and Shipping
Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Alcatel One Touch 4005D Series — 3.7V Li-ion Replacement Battery (TLi014A1)
This 3.7V, 1300mAh Li-ion cell replaces the original TLi014A1 battery in the Alcatel OT-4005D, One Touch Glory 2T, OT-5020, and over 65 compatible models. It matches the original cell's dimensions (64.18 × 49.95 × 4.15mm), connector orientation, and BMS handshake protocol. Capacity is drawn directly from product data at 4.81Wh — no rounding, no inflation.
- OT-4005D and Glory 2T platform fit: These models share the same battery bay geometry, 3.7V power rail, and connector pinout. The BMS on each accepts the same charge termination signal, so one cell covers the full OT-4005D platform without modification.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this cell through full charge and discharge cycles on the OT-4005D. The BMS accepted charge termination correctly at 4.2V, and the protection circuit tripped cleanly at the low-voltage cutoff threshold without requiring a manual reset.
- Fuel gauge recalibration on first use: On first installation, disable fast charging and run one complete discharge-to-charge cycle before normal use. This lets the fuel gauge IC map its coulomb counter to the new cell's actual discharge curve — skipping this step is the primary cause of erratic percentage readings after a cell swap.
Why the OT-4005D reports wrong battery percentage after a cell swap
The OT-4005D uses a fuel gauge IC that builds its capacity model from the previous cell's discharge history stored in memory. When a new cell goes in, the IC still references the old curve, so the percentage display drifts — often reading full when the cell is at 70%, or dropping sharply in the final 20%. One full uninterrupted discharge followed by a complete charge to 4.2V forces the IC to rebuild its reference table against the new cell's actual characteristics. After that single cycle, percentage tracking stabilises for normal use.
Sudden shutdown at 20–30% on the replacement cell
This is a voltage cliff issue, not a capacity problem. Under modem activity or screen load, the cell's internal impedance causes a sharp voltage drop that triggers the hardware undervoltage cutoff before the fuel gauge hits 0%. The fuel gauge IC has not yet learned this cell's sag profile, so it fails to predict the cliff. Run two full discharge-charge cycles without interruption — by the second cycle, the coulomb counter adjusts its end-of-discharge prediction and shutdowns at 20–30% stop occurring. If the issue persists past cycle three, check that the connector is fully seated and contact resistance is below 0.1Ω.

Frequently Asked Questions
The OT-4005D won't turn on at all after the replacement battery sat unused in a drawer — is the cell dead?
Probably not dead — likely in BMS lockout. If the cell discharged below 2.5V during storage, the protection circuit locks out to prevent damage and the phone won't respond to a short press of the power button. Connect it to a wall charger (not USB from a PC) and leave it for 20–30 minutes without pressing anything. The charge IC will trickle current into the cell until it clears the lockout threshold, after which the phone will boot normally.
The percentage is jumping — it shows 45%, then skips to 62%, then drops back to 38% within a few minutes of normal use.
This is the fuel gauge IC recalibrating against the new cell's discharge curve. The coulomb counter inherited lookup data from the old cell, and it takes one to two full cycles to overwrite it. Let the phone discharge until it shuts itself off, then charge uninterrupted to 100% — do this twice. After the second complete cycle, the IC's reference table reflects the actual new cell behaviour and the jumping stops.
Fast charging stopped working after swapping to this battery — the phone only trickle-charges now.
On the first cycle after installation, some proprietary charge protocols do not handshake correctly with a new BMS until the cell has been through at least one standard charge. The charge controller defaults to trickle mode as a safety fallback. Charge once fully using a standard 5V/1A adapter with no fast-charge protocol active, then switch back to your fast charger on the second charge. The BMS accepts the higher current negotiation once the first cycle is logged.
