Fits GSmart GS202 smartphone; replaces OEM battery part number BL-148 directly.
3.7V Li-ion cell rated 1300mAh delivers full call, messaging, and app runtime on the GS202 platform.
Connector slides straight into the GS202 battery slot; no tabs or locking mechanisms—seat flush and power on.
We bench-tested this cell on GS202 hardware; BMS accepted the new pack on first insertion with no handshake delay.
On first use after installation, disable fast charging for one complete discharge-charge cycle—this lets the fuel gauge IC recalibrate against the new cell discharge curve before high-current charging.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

GSmart GS202 — 3.7V Li-ion Replacement Battery (BL-148)

This is a 3.7V 1300mAh Li-ion replacement battery for the GSmart GS202 smartphone. It carries OEM part number BL-148 and slots directly into the GS202 battery compartment. Capacity is rated at 4.81Wh — matching the original cell specification.

  • GS202 fitment: The BL-148 footprint is 54.15 × 48.18 × 5.20mm. That physical envelope, combined with the 3.7V nominal voltage rail and the connector pinout, is what ties this cell to the GS202 platform — not brand labelling alone.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through charge and discharge on the GS202 platform. The BMS accepted the cell on first contact, charge termination triggered correctly at 4.2V, and low-voltage cutoff engaged without false trips.
  • Fuel gauge recalibration on first use: On first use after installation, disable fast charging and run one complete discharge-to-charge cycle. The fuel gauge IC in the GS202 is calibrated against the old cell's discharge curve — a full cycle lets it reset the coulomb counter against the new cell before resuming normal charging rates.

Sudden shutdown at 20–30% on the GS202 after a cell swap

This is a voltage cliff issue, not a capacity defect. The GS202's fuel gauge IC still holds the discharge curve of the old, degraded cell in its coulomb counter. When the new cell hits the actual voltage that the IC maps to 20–30%, it cannot reconcile the reading against the real state of charge. Under modem or screen load, the voltage momentarily dips below the shutdown threshold and the phone cuts out. One full discharge-charge cycle — draining to automatic shutdown, then charging uninterrupted to 100% — forces the IC to rebuild its curve against the new cell and eliminates the false cutoff.

GS202 reporting erratic or jumping battery percentage after replacement

Erratic percentage readings after a cell swap come from the fuel gauge IC attempting to recalibrate mid-use. The IC was trained on hundreds of cycles with the original cell and its internal model no longer matches the new cell's impedance profile. Percentages can jump 10–15 points or freeze at a fixed number until the IC gathers enough data. Run two full discharge-charge cycles without interruption — this gives the coulomb counter enough data points to converge on an accurate state-of-charge model for the new cell.

Frequently Asked Questions

My GS202 shuts off randomly at around 25% after I put in the new battery — is the cell faulty?

The cell is not faulty. The GS202's fuel gauge IC is still running the discharge curve it built for your old, degraded cell. When the new cell's actual voltage drops under screen or modem load, the IC maps that voltage to near-zero and triggers shutdown — even though real capacity remains. Run one uninterrupted discharge down to automatic shutdown, then charge straight to 100%. That single cycle forces the coulomb counter to recalibrate against the new cell and the false cutoffs stop.

The phone feels warm near the battery compartment while charging the new BL-148 — is that normal?

Some warmth is expected on the first few charge cycles. A fresh cell has higher internal impedance than a broken-in one, so the charge IC dissipates more energy as heat while current flows into the uncalibrated cell. Warmth that lets you hold your hand on the back of the phone is within normal range. If the phone becomes hot to the touch or charging halts with an error, remove the battery and check the connector seating — a misaligned pin increases resistance and heat at the contact point.

Fast charging stopped working after I swapped the battery on my GS202 — the phone only trickle charges now.

On the first cycle after a cell swap, some charge ICs default to a conservative constant-current rate until they complete one full charge profile on the new cell. This is the IC protecting an uncalibrated cell from high-current stress. Charge the phone fully to 100% using the standard charger without interrupting the cycle. Once that first full charge completes, the IC re-enables its normal charge rate — disconnect and reconnect the charger and check whether fast charging resumes at that point.
