Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.
Delivery and Shipping
Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Landi A8 / E350 / E550 — 7.4V Li-ion Replacement Battery (LD18650D)
This 7.4V 2600mAh Li-ion battery replaces the original power cell in the Landi A8, E350, and E550 portable payment terminals. These are countertop and handheld POS devices used in retail and hospitality for card and mobile payment processing. The OEM part numbers covered are LD18650D and LD18650A.
- A8, E350, and E550 compatibility: All three terminals run on the same 7.4V two-cell Li-ion architecture with a shared connector pinout and BMS handshake protocol. Swapping between models on this voltage rail requires no hardware modification.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this cell through a full charge and discharge cycle on the A8 platform. The BMS accepted the handshake without fault codes, and the protection circuit triggered correctly at the low-voltage cutoff threshold during discharge testing.
- First transaction cycle after installation: After fitting the battery, complete one full transaction cycle — including a receipt print — before deploying in a live environment. The terminal maps battery capacity during normal operation and requires at least one complete power cycle to calibrate the charge indicator accurately.
Terminal rebooting mid-transaction after battery swap
The receipt printer motor draws a sharp current spike at the moment of printing — sometimes 1.5A or more for a fraction of a second. On a new cell that has not yet completed a full charge cycle, the BMS may read this spike as an overcurrent event and trip the protection circuit, cutting power momentarily. This causes the terminal to reboot mid-sale. Running one complete charge-discharge cycle before going live allows the BMS to set its baseline and tolerate normal print spikes without tripping.
Terminal not powering on after sitting unused in a drawer
Li-ion cells self-discharge at roughly 2–3% per month. If the terminal sat unused for several months, the cell voltage may have dropped below the BMS recovery threshold — typically around 2.5V per cell, or 5.0V at the pack level. At that point the BMS locks out the discharge path entirely to prevent cell damage. Connect the terminal to its original charger and leave it for at least 60 minutes without interruption; most chargers include a trickle pre-charge stage that slowly raises cell voltage back above the recovery threshold before switching to normal charge current. If the terminal still shows no response after that period, check charger output with a multimeter — target 8.4V at the charging port.

Frequently Asked Questions
My Landi A8 reboots every time a receipt prints — is this the battery?
Yes, and it is a BMS trip, not a terminal fault. The printer motor pulls a sharp current spike at the moment of printing, and on a fresh battery that has not been through a full charge cycle yet, the protection circuit reads that spike as overcurrent and cuts power. Charge the battery fully, then run at least one complete transaction including a receipt print before putting the terminal into service. That cycle lets the BMS set its baseline and stop tripping on normal printer draw.
The terminal is stuck on the boot screen and never completes startup after I fitted the new battery.
This is a BMS handshake timing issue. The Landi terminal runs a PCI-compliant boot sequence that queries the battery's protection circuit before completing startup, and a new cell that has not yet gone through a charge cycle may not respond within the expected window. Connect the terminal to the charger and allow it to charge for at least 30 minutes, then power it on again. One full charge cycle is usually enough for the BMS to complete the handshake and allow the boot sequence to finish.
The battery indicator has been showing 99% for the past two hours — is the cell defective?
It is not defective. When the charge IC detects a new cell, it switches into top-off mode and trickle-charges at a low current to balance the cells precisely before reporting 100%. This stage can take one to two hours depending on ambient temperature and the exact cell voltage at the time of installation. Leave the terminal on the charger until the indicator flips to 100% and the charging light changes state — that confirms the charge IC has exited top-off mode and the full 2600mAh capacity is available.
