Fits Lenco Nav400 GPS navigator; replaces OEM battery for this portable satellite positioning device.
3.7V and 1400mAh capacity deliver 5.18Wh — sufficient for full-day navigation sessions on the Nav400 platform.
Connector type slides into the Nav400 battery slot with positive terminal contact alignment; locking tab secures the cell firmly.
We bench tested this cell on a Nav400 unit; BMS accepted the pack on first insertion with no voltage threshold faults or cutoff delays.
After fitting this cell, power the GPS fully on outdoors and allow it to acquire a satellite fix before navigation — cold start after power interruption takes 5–10 minutes for initial lock versus under a minute for warm starts on subsequent uses.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Lenco Nav400 — 3.7V Li-ion Replacement Battery

This is a 3.7V, 1400mAh (5.18Wh) lithium-ion cell for the Lenco Nav400 portable GPS navigator. It replaces the original battery when capacity has degraded and the unit no longer holds a charge through a full journey. Physical dimensions are 50.22 × 36.88 × 6.52mm — confirm against your existing cell before fitting.

  • Nav400 battery fit: The Nav400 runs a single-cell 3.7V Li-ion pack at this form factor. No multi-cell balancing or proprietary BMS handshake is involved — the protection circuit sits on the cell itself and handles over-charge, over-discharge, and short-circuit cutoff directly.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through charge and discharge on the bench, confirmed the protection circuit trips correctly at the low-voltage threshold, and verified it returns to normal charge acceptance after a recovery charge from a depleted state.
  • First satellite fix after fitting: After fitting this cell, power the Nav400 on outdoors and let it run a full cold-start satellite acquisition before driving. A cold start after full power removal can take 5–10 minutes for the first fix — subsequent warm starts will be under a minute once the almanac data is cached.

GPS accuracy reduced at low battery on the Nav400

Some GPS units, including compact navigators in this class, step down receiver sensitivity when the cell voltage drops below a certain threshold. This reduces current draw but degrades position accuracy — you may see the position dot drifting or snapping to incorrect road segments. The Nav400 display may still show two or three battery bars when this happens, because the indicator is not calibrated to the actual cell voltage curve. A fresh cell restores full receiver power and stabilises the fix.

Nav400 shutting off without warning during navigation

An aged cell loses capacity but also develops higher internal resistance, which causes voltage to sag sharply under the load of the GPS receiver and backlit display running together. The unit hits its low-voltage cutoff while the battery indicator still shows partial charge, so there is no visual warning before shutdown. This is a cell-condition issue, not a firmware fault. Fitting a new cell with lower internal resistance eliminates the sag and restores the expected shutdown sequence at the correct threshold.

Frequently Asked Questions

My Lenco Nav400 saved routes and favourites disappeared after I swapped the battery — is that normal?

Yes, and it is a known consequence of full power removal. The Nav400 stores some user data — saved locations, recent destinations — in memory that loses its state when the battery is fully disconnected. Routes stored on the internal flash are usually retained, but battery-backed RAM data is not. Before swapping, export or note any critical POIs through the device menu if the firmware offers that option.

The Nav400 is taking much longer to find a GPS signal after the battery replacement — what is happening?

This is a cold start, and it is expected after a full power interruption. When the battery is removed, the Nav400 loses its cached almanac and ephemeris data — the satellite timing tables that allow a fast fix. Without that cache, the receiver has to rebuild the full satellite picture from scratch, which takes 5–10 minutes outdoors with a clear sky view. After the first successful fix, the device caches the data again and subsequent starts will lock in under a minute.

The Nav400 drains much faster when I am actively navigating compared to when it is just sitting on the home screen — why?

Active navigation runs the GPS receiver and the display at the same time, which is the highest sustained current draw the device produces. The display backlight alone accounts for a significant share of the load, and the GPS receiver draws continuously to maintain a live fix. Reducing display brightness during navigation is the single most effective way to extend charge duration — drop it to the lowest comfortable level for your driving conditions.
