Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.
Delivery and Shipping
Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Lenovo IdeaPad S10-2 Series — 11.1V Li-ion Replacement Battery (L09C3B12)
This 11.1V, 6600mAh Li-ion cell replaces the original battery in the Lenovo IdeaPad S10-2 netbook, including the S10-2 20027 and S10-2 2957 variants. It fits the physical bay and connector directly, with no modifications required. Capacity is 73.26Wh — matching the original cell specification.
- S10-2 series compatibility: The S10-2, S10-2 20027, and S10-2 2957 all share the same 11.1V three-cell architecture, connector pinout, and BMS handshake protocol — which is why a single replacement cell covers all three variants. Part numbers L09C3B12, L09C6Y12, L09C6YU11, L09M3B11, L09S3B11, and L09S6Y11 are cross-compatible across this lineup.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through charge and discharge on the S10-2 platform. The BMS initialised correctly, the BIOS recognised the cell without error flags, and charge current ramped down as expected at the top-of-charge threshold.
- Post-install calibration on the S10-2: After fitting, run one full discharge until the machine hibernates on its own, then charge uninterrupted to 100% without interruption. This resets the BIOS battery learn cycle and clears the inaccurate health warning that appears after every cell swap on this platform.
Why the IdeaPad S10-2 shuts down at 20–30% after a battery swap
The S10-2 BIOS stores voltage-to-capacity mapping from the previous cell in non-volatile memory. When a new cell goes in, those old curves no longer match the actual chemistry, so the fuel gauge IC miscalculates remaining charge. Under combined CPU and display load, the cell hits a voltage cliff the BIOS wasn't expecting, and the system shuts down to protect itself. Running one full supervised discharge-to-hibernate cycle followed by a complete uninterrupted charge resets the learned curve and resolves the premature shutdown.
BIOS reports battery health as "poor" or "replace soon" immediately after fitting a new cell
This happens because the EEPROM retains health data written by the old degraded cell — the BIOS reads that stored value rather than measuring the new cell directly. It is not a fault with the replacement. Complete the calibration cycle described above: discharge to hibernate cutoff, then charge to 100% without interruption. After two to three full cycles the fuel gauge IC will have enough data to overwrite the stale EEPROM values, and the health warning clears.

Frequently Asked Questions
My IdeaPad S10-2 shows a completely different Wh rating in Lenovo Vantage after fitting the new battery — is the cell faulty?
The Wh figure shown in Lenovo Vantage or Device Manager pulls from EEPROM data written by the original cell, not from the physical cell you just installed. The new cell's actual chemistry may rate slightly differently at the EEPROM level, which causes the mismatch. This is a data reporting difference, not a capacity fault. Run two full calibration cycles — discharge to hibernate, charge uninterrupted to 100% — and the reported value will stabilise.
The S10-2 fuel gauge jumps around wildly in the first few charge cycles — it shows 80%, then drops to 40% within minutes under light load. What's causing that?
The fuel gauge IC on the S10-2 mainboard calibrates itself against the cell's actual voltage-discharge curve over several cycles. With a new cell the IC has no learned reference yet, so its capacity estimates are unreliable until it builds one. This is expected behaviour on this platform and not a sign of a bad cell. After three to four full discharge-and-charge cycles the gauge will track accurately.
New battery installed but the S10-2 won't charge above 80% — it just stops and holds there.
This is a BIOS-controlled charge limit, not a fault with the cell itself. Some Lenovo BIOS versions ship with a conservation mode that caps charge at 60% or 80% to reduce cell stress during long periods on AC power. Check Lenovo Energy Management or Lenovo Vantage for a "Battery Conservation Mode" or "Optimised Battery" setting and toggle it off. Once disabled, plug in and charge — the cell will reach 100%.
