Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Lenovo ET280 — 3.7V Li-ion Replacement Battery (GB/T18287-2000)

This is a 3.7V, 1200mAh Li-ion battery for the Lenovo ET280 PDA and Pocket PC. It replaces the original cell when the device no longer holds a charge or fails to power on. Voltage and capacity match the OEM specification exactly.

  • ET280 platform fit: The ET280 runs a single-cell 3.7V Li-ion architecture. The BMS in this unit monitors cell voltage and temperature, and the connector pinout matches the OEM housing — no adapter or modification needed.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this battery through charge and discharge on the ET280 platform. The BMS reported correct cell state, and the device completed a full boot sequence without triggering low-voltage cutoff.
  • RAM power and data sync before swap: The ET280 stores open application state and unsaved data in volatile RAM powered directly by the main battery. Before removing the old cell, perform a full data sync to your host computer — pulling the battery without syncing will wipe anything not written to flash storage.

ET280 not booting after new battery installation

A new Li-ion cell ships at partial charge — typically 40–60% — and the ET280 boot sequence requires a minimum threshold voltage to initialise the operating system. If the device shows nothing or flickers off immediately after swap, the cell voltage is too low to complete boot. Connect the device to the charger and allow at least 20–30 minutes before attempting to power on. The battery must reach approximately 3.6V before the boot sequence will run to completion.

Battery life shorter than expected during active warehouse scanning

The ET280's barcode scanner LED and wireless radio draw significantly more current than the standby baseline. In continuous scanning sessions, this combined load can reduce observed capacity well below what you'd see in normal PDA use. The 1200mAh rating reflects total available charge under controlled discharge — not peak-draw field conditions. To extend time between charges in scanning workflows, disable the wireless radio when active sync is not needed and reduce screen brightness.

Frequently Asked Questions

My ET280 lost all its open data when I swapped the battery — why did that happen?

The ET280 keeps active application data and unsaved files in SRAM, which is powered directly by the main battery. The moment the old cell is removed, that RAM loses power and everything in it is gone. Flash storage survives the swap — only data not yet written to flash is at risk. Before any future battery change, perform a full ActiveSync or data sync to your host computer first.

The ET280 won't turn on at all after fitting the new battery — is the battery dead?

It's almost certainly a low-voltage issue, not a dead cell. New Li-ion batteries ship partially discharged, and the ET280 requires a minimum voltage to complete its boot sequence. Connect the charger and leave it for at least 20–30 minutes before pressing the power button. If the device still won't boot after a full charge, hold the reset button for 10 seconds and attempt a cold boot.

Wireless sync keeps dropping on the ET280 since the battery swap — what's causing it?

The ET280's radio is voltage-sensitive — when cell voltage sags under load, the wireless module can lose its connection mid-transfer. This is most common if the replacement battery was not fully charged before use. Charge the battery to 100% and retest sync stability. If drops continue at full charge, check that the battery contacts in the housing are clean and making firm contact.
