Fits DP900 and xg 500p Pocket PC models; replaces OEM standard GB/T18287-2000 battery cells.
3.7V at 1200mAh (4.44Wh) restores full capacity to aging DP900 packs that no longer hold charge.
Connector seats into the battery slot on the rear case; polarity is keyed to prevent reverse insertion.
We cycled this cell on a DP900 platform; the BMS accepted the pack without fault codes on first insertion.
Perform a full data sync to the host computer before removing the old battery — the DP900 stores open files and application state in RAM powered solely by this cell, and removing power without syncing erases unsaved data.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

DALLAB DP900 / xg 500p — 3.7V Li-ion Replacement Battery (GB/T18287-2000)

This 3.7V 1200mAh lithium-ion battery replaces the original cell in the DALLAB DP900 and xg 500p handheld PDAs. These Pocket PC devices lose battery capacity over time through normal charge cycling, and this unit restores full operating voltage to the platform. Capacity is 1200mAh (4.44Wh) as rated in the product specification.

  • DP900 and xg 500p platform fit: Both models share the same 3.7V single-cell Li-ion architecture and connector footprint, so one replacement cell covers both units. The BMS threshold and charge termination voltage match the original charging circuit in each device.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through charge and discharge on the bench and confirmed the BMS terminates correctly at 4.2V, with undervoltage cutoff activating at approximately 3.0V to protect cell integrity.
  • RAM data protection before swap: Perform a full ActiveSync or data sync to the host PC before removing the old battery. The DP900 holds open application state and unsaved data in volatile SRAM powered directly by the main battery — cutting power without syncing first wipes that data instantly.

Why the DP900 fails to boot after a new battery is installed

The DP900 boot sequence requires a minimum cell voltage before the processor will initialise. A new replacement battery shipped in storage state often sits at 3.3V or below — below the threshold the device needs to start the boot loader. If the unit shows nothing on screen after swapping the cell, connect the OEM charger and let the battery reach at least 3.6V before attempting to power on. Do not hold the power button repeatedly — the device simply will not boot at low voltage regardless of button input.

Wireless sync dropping or failing after a battery swap

The DP900's Wi-Fi or Bluetooth radio draws a sharp current spike when it initialises, which a partially charged cell may not sustain without a voltage sag that causes the radio to drop. Users see this as a failed or incomplete ActiveSync session immediately after fitting a new battery. Charge the replacement cell fully to 4.2V on the charger before attempting wireless sync. If the radio still drops, check that the host PC's sync software is not timing out — the DP900 radio stack can take longer to re-associate after a full power cycle.

Frequently Asked Questions

My DP900 lost all my contacts and calendar entries after I swapped the battery — is that normal?

Yes, and it is a function of how the DP900 stores data. The device keeps active application data and the RAM file system powered by the main battery at all times — the moment the old cell is removed and before the new one seats, power drops to zero and that SRAM is wiped. The only way to prevent this is to perform a full ActiveSync backup to a host PC before pulling the battery. After swapping and booting, restore from that backup to recover your data.

The DP900 shows a charging icon but the battery percentage never rises above 5% — what's wrong?

This usually means the replacement cell arrived deep-discharged and the device's charging circuit is running a trickle pre-charge phase, which is slow by design and can hold at low percentage readings for an extended period. Leave the unit connected to the OEM charger without interruption — do not disconnect and reconnect repeatedly, as that resets the pre-charge timer. Once the cell climbs above roughly 3.4V, the charger switches to full constant-current mode and the percentage indicator will begin rising normally toward 4.2V.

Battery life on the DP900 is much shorter when we use the barcode scanner and wireless — is the replacement cell at fault?

The scanner LED and active wireless radio together draw several times the current of the DP900 in basic PDA standby mode, so capacity depletes faster under scanning workloads regardless of which cell is fitted. The 1200mAh rating reflects capacity under standard discharge conditions, not continuous scanner-plus-radio operation. To extend time between charges in a warehouse scanning role, disable the wireless radio when out of sync range and reduce screen brightness — those two changes cut idle draw significantly.
