Fits Medion Life E4502 and replaces OEM battery part numbers LI37163A1 and LI3716U.
This 3.7V 1700mAh cell restores full daily runtime to aging Medion smartphones with degraded original packs.
Connector slides straight into the original battery slot with no adapter needed; locking tab seats flush.
We bench tested the BMS on discharge cycles; fuel gauge IC accepted the new cell after one full charge-discharge.
On first use after installation, run one complete discharge-charge cycle without fast charging to let the fuel gauge IC recalibrate to this cell's discharge curve.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Medion Life E4502 — 3.7V Li-ion Replacement Battery (LI37163A1)

This 3.7V, 1700mAh Li-ion battery is a direct cell replacement for the Medion Life E4502 smartphone and the MD 98907 / MD98907 variants. It also fits the Life P4013. Voltage and capacity match the OEM specification exactly — 3.7V nominal, 6.29Wh total.

  • Life E4502 / MD 98907 / Life P4013 compatibility: These models share the same cell footprint, connector pinout, and BMS communication lines, which is why a single SKU covers the full group. Swapping between them does not require firmware changes.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through charge and discharge on the E4502 platform. The BMS accepted the cell without error flags, and charge termination triggered correctly at full capacity.
  • Fuel gauge recalibration on first use: On first use after installation, disable fast charging for one complete discharge-charge cycle. This lets the fuel gauge IC recalibrate against the new cell's discharge curve before high-current charging is applied to an uncalibrated cell.

Sudden shutdown at 20–30% on the replacement cell

A fresh cell has a different discharge curve than the worn cell the fuel gauge IC was calibrated against. When the modem fires or the screen peaks in brightness, instantaneous current demand causes a voltage sag the fuel gauge did not predict. The IC reads the sag as a hard undervoltage event and shuts the device down, even though displayed percentage suggests charge remains. One full discharge-to-cutoff and recharge cycle re-trains the coulomb counter to the new cell, and premature shutdowns stop.

Phone will not power on after sitting discharged in storage

Li-ion cells stored at very low state of charge can drop below 2.5V per cell, triggering a BMS lockout that blocks normal boot. The device will show no signs of life even when connected to a charger. Connect the phone to a wall adapter — not a USB port — and leave it undisturbed for 20–30 minutes before pressing the power button. If the cell recovers above 2.8V, the BMS releases the lockout and the phone boots normally.

Frequently Asked Questions

My Medion Life E4502 keeps shutting off at around 25% battery — is the new cell faulty?

The cell is almost certainly fine. After a cell swap, the fuel gauge IC is still calibrated to the old cell's discharge curve, so it misjudges the voltage drop under load and calls a premature shutdown. Run one full discharge-to-cutoff followed by a full uninterrupted charge without fast charging enabled. That single cycle re-trains the coulomb counter, and the early shutdowns stop.

The battery percentage on my E4502 is jumping around erratically after fitting the replacement — what's happening?

The coulomb counter inside the phone's fuel gauge IC lost its reference point when the old cell was removed. It is now estimating charge state against a curve it no longer has accurate data for, so percentage readings jump. This is not a fault with the new cell. Let the battery drain fully until the phone shuts itself off, then charge to 100% in one go — the IC locks onto the new cell's curve and readings stabilise.

Fast charging stopped working on my E4502 after I replaced the battery — how do I get it back?

On the first cycle after a cell swap, the charge IC can reject the fast-charge handshake because it has no confirmed impedance baseline for the new cell. Plug into a standard 5V wall adapter and complete one full slow charge first. Once the charge controller has logged a complete cycle at standard current, reconnect your fast charger — the protocol handshake resumes and higher charge rates become available again.
