Fits Pantech Breeze IV, Breeze 4, P2050 smartphones; replaces OEM part number PBR-40C.
3.7V, 750mAh lithium-ion cell delivers the original power capacity for this handset.
Connector type: proprietary Pantech contact strip; slides into battery slot with retention tab engagement.
Bench testing showed normal BMS handshake on insertion; fuel gauge IC accepted the fresh cell without lockout codes.
On first full charge after installation, disable any fast-charge mode in settings — let the phone complete one full discharge-charge cycle so the coulomb counter recalibrates against this cell's discharge curve before high-current charging resumes.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Pantech Breeze IV / P2050 — 3.7V Li-ion Replacement Battery (PBR-40C)

This is a 3.7V 750mAh Li-ion cell built to replace the original PBR-40C battery in the Pantech Breeze IV (P2050). It fits the Breeze IV, Breeze 4, and P2050 variants — all share the same form factor and connector. Dimensions are 54.24 × 41.84 × 4.19 mm, matching the OEM battery bay exactly.

  • Breeze IV / Breeze 4 / P2050 fit: All three model designations use the same battery bay, connector pinout, and BMS communication protocol — one cell covers every variant without modification.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through charge and discharge on the P2050 platform. The BMS handshake completed correctly on the first cycle, and the protection circuit tripped at the expected low-voltage cutoff threshold.
  • Fuel gauge recalibration after swap: On first use after installing this cell, run one complete discharge down to auto-shutoff, then charge uninterrupted to 100%. This gives the phone's fuel gauge IC a clean reference curve for the new cell — skipping this step causes erratic percentage readings early on.

Sudden shutdown at 20–30% on the Breeze IV after a cell swap

The Breeze IV's fuel gauge IC stores a discharge curve calibrated to the original cell's internal resistance and voltage profile. A new cell has a different curve, so the IC misreads remaining capacity under screen and modem load. When actual cell voltage drops below roughly 3.5V under load, the phone shuts down — even though the gauge still shows 20–30%. One full discharge-to-shutoff cycle followed by a complete uninterrupted charge lets the coulomb counter reset against the new cell and clears this behaviour.

Phone won't power on after the replacement battery sat in storage

Li-ion cells self-discharge during storage. If this battery sat below 2.5V per cell before installation, the BMS enters lockout mode and blocks charge current to prevent damage. The phone will show no sign of life — no charging indicator, no boot screen. Connect the phone to a wall charger and leave it undisturbed for 15–20 minutes; the charge IC trickle-charges the cell back above the BMS re-enable threshold of approximately 2.9V. After that, a normal charge cycle proceeds.

Frequently Asked Questions

My Pantech Breeze IV keeps shutting off at around 25% battery — why is this happening with a new cell?

The fuel gauge IC on the P2050 is calibrated to the discharge curve of the original PBR-40C cell. A replacement cell with slightly different internal resistance causes the IC to misread the remaining voltage under modem and display load — real voltage hits the cutoff floor before the gauge reaches zero. Run one full discharge to automatic shutoff, then charge to 100% without interruption. That single cycle resets the coulomb counter to the new cell's curve and stops the early shutdowns.

The battery percentage on my Breeze IV jumps around erratically after I put in a new battery — is the cell faulty?

It is almost certainly the fuel gauge IC recalibrating, not a bad cell. The IC compares incoming charge data against its stored reference curve, and a fresh cell with a different capacity profile forces it to re-estimate repeatedly until it builds a reliable history. Complete two full discharge-to-shutoff and uninterrupted charge-to-100% cycles. Percentage readings stabilise significantly by the end of the second cycle as the IC locks onto the new cell's actual voltage-to-capacity relationship.

My Breeze IV shows a charging symbol but the percentage hasn't moved after an hour — what's wrong?

If the cell dropped below 2.5V during storage, the BMS enters a protection lockout that blocks normal charge current. The phone's charge IC then delivers only a trickle current — enough to light the charging indicator, but not enough to visibly move the percentage quickly. Leave it connected to a wall charger for at least 20 minutes without unplugging. Once cell voltage recovers above approximately 2.9V, the BMS re-enables full charge current and the percentage will begin climbing at a normal rate.
