Fits ZTE Fit Model SP-A5 smartphone, replaces original SP-A5 battery.
3.7V lithium-ion cell rated 1300mAh supplies power for calls, messaging, and app use on this device.
Battery connector slides straight into the SP-A5 slot with standard tab orientation lock.
We cycled this cell on the SP-A5 platform — BMS accepted charge without fault flags, voltage held steady under load.
On first use after installation, disable fast charging for one complete discharge-charge cycle so the fuel gauge IC recalibrates against this cell's discharge curve.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

MegaFon SP-A5 — 3.7V Li-ion Replacement Battery

This is a 3.7V, 1300mAh (4.81Wh) lithium-ion battery for the MegaFon SP-A5 smartphone. It replaces the original cell when the existing battery no longer holds charge or shuts the phone down unexpectedly. Dimensions are 43.50 × 47.00 × 6.10mm — confirm these against your original before fitting.

  • SP-A5 fitment: The SP-A5 uses a compact removable cell at a 3.7V nominal rail. This battery matches that voltage, physical footprint, and connector orientation so the BMS can communicate normally with the phone's power management IC.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran charge and discharge cycles on the SP-A5 platform and confirmed the BMS handshake completed correctly. The phone accepted the cell without throwing low-battery errors or triggering immediate cutoff.
  • Fuel gauge recalibration on first use: Disable fast charging for the first full discharge-charge cycle after fitting this cell. The fuel gauge IC on the SP-A5 is calibrated to the old cell's discharge curve — one unconstrained cycle lets it reset against the new cell before high-current charging begins.

Sudden shutdown at 20–30% on the SP-A5 after a cell swap

A new cell has a steeper voltage drop curve than a degraded original. The SP-A5's fuel gauge IC still uses the old curve as its reference, so it misreads remaining capacity until recalibration. Under modem load or screen brightness spikes, voltage drops below the BMS cutoff threshold before the percentage display reaches zero. Run one full discharge to auto-off, then charge uninterrupted to 100% — the IC resets its coulomb counter against the real curve and the early shutdowns stop.

SP-A5 showing wrong battery percentage after replacement

The fuel gauge IC stores learned discharge data from the previous cell. After swapping to a new 1300mAh cell, the IC reports percentage based on that stale profile — so 40% on screen may reflect a much lower actual state of charge. This causes erratic jumps or a percentage that drops faster than expected. Perform one complete discharge to shutdown followed by a full charge to 100% to force the coulomb counter to recalibrate against the new cell's actual capacity.

Frequently Asked Questions

My SP-A5 won't turn on at all after the replacement battery sat in a drawer for a few months — is it dead?

A cell stored at low charge can drop below 2.5V, which triggers BMS lockout to prevent damage. The phone won't respond because the BMS has disconnected the cell from the circuit entirely. Plug into a wall charger — not a USB port — and leave it for 20–30 minutes without pressing any buttons. If the BMS recovers, the charging indicator will appear; once it does, let the phone charge fully before powering on.

Fast charging stopped working on my SP-A5 right after I fitted this battery — it only trickle charges now.

On the first cycle after a cell swap, the phone's charge IC often defaults to trickle or standard charge while it handshakes with the new BMS. This is normal behaviour, not a fault. Complete one full charge at the slow rate, then disconnect and power the phone off and back on. The proprietary charge protocol should re-negotiate on the next plug-in and restore normal charge current.

The SP-A5 feels noticeably warm near the battery compartment while charging — is something wrong?

A new cell has higher internal impedance than a broken-in one, so the charge IC pushes more voltage to overcome it and generates extra heat in the first few cycles. This is expected and typically resolves after two or three full charge cycles as the cell's impedance drops. If the phone becomes too hot to hold or the heat continues past the third cycle, check that the back cover is seated correctly — trapped heat from a poor seal can amplify this. The temperature should normalise by cycle three.
