Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

MegaFon SP-W1 — 3.7V Li-ion Replacement Battery
This is a 3.7V, 1100mAh Li-ion replacement battery for the MegaFon SP-W1 smartphone. It fits directly into the SP-W1 and restores the phone to working operation when the original cell has degraded or failed. Capacity is 4.07Wh at the rated voltage.
- SP-W1 cell format: The SP-W1 uses a slim 84 × 34 × 4mm cell with a low nominal voltage rail of 3.7V. Any replacement must match these physical dimensions and voltage exactly — the phone's charge IC expects that specific cell geometry and will not seat or make contact with an oversized cell.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through charge and discharge on the bench and confirmed the BMS communicates correctly with the SP-W1's charge controller. Cutoff voltages at both ends of the cycle registered within the expected window — no false low-battery shutoffs during our test runs.
- Fuel gauge recalibration after swap: On first use after installation, disable fast charging and run one full discharge-charge cycle from 100% down to automatic shutdown, then charge uninterrupted to 100%. This lets the fuel gauge IC map the new cell's discharge curve before resuming normal use.
Why the SP-W1 reports wrong battery percentage after a cell swap
The SP-W1 uses a fuel gauge IC that builds a discharge model from the cell it learns on over time. When you swap the cell, that learned model no longer matches the new cell's actual voltage curve. The IC will apply the old curve to the new cell and report percentages that are early or late by a wide margin. One complete uninterrupted discharge-charge cycle forces the IC to relearn the curve against the actual cell chemistry. After that cycle, percentage reporting stabilises.
Sudden shutdown at 20–30% on the SP-W1 after replacement
This happens when the fuel gauge IC has not yet recalibrated to the new cell and the phone hits an actual voltage floor before the reported percentage reaches zero. Under screen or modem load, the cell voltage drops sharply at the bottom of its curve — faster than the stale gauge predicts. The phone shuts off to protect the cell even though the display showed charge remaining. Run one full cycle as described above and confirm the phone reaches the automatic low-battery shutdown rather than a hard cutoff. If the problem continues after two full cycles, check that cell voltage at shutdown is above 3.2V — below that points to a seating or contact issue.

Frequently Asked Questions
The SP-W1 won't power on at all after sitting unused for a few months — is the new battery dead?
It is likely a BMS lockout caused by deep discharge during storage. When cell voltage drops below roughly 2.5V, the battery management system disables output to prevent cell damage. Plug the phone into a wall charger — not a PC port — and leave it for 20–30 minutes without pressing the power button. The charge IC needs time to trickle current into the cell and bring voltage above the BMS recovery threshold before the phone will respond.
Fast charging stopped working the first time I charged the SP-W1 after fitting the replacement battery — why?
On the first charge cycle with a new cell, the phone's charge IC may default to standard charge rates while it checks the new BMS parameters. This is normal behaviour and not a fault with the battery. Charge the phone fully using a standard charger, let it discharge to automatic shutdown, then charge again — fast charge protocols typically re-engage from the second cycle once the IC accepts the new cell. If fast charge still does not activate after two full cycles, check that your charger and cable both support the required protocol.
The SP-W1 feels noticeably warm near the battery during the first few charges after the swap — is that normal?
A new high-impedance cell generates more heat during initial charging than a broken-in cell does. The charge IC pushes current into higher internal resistance, and that converts to heat. It is most noticeable during the first two or three cycles and should reduce as the cell breaks in. If the phone becomes too hot to hold comfortably, or if warmth persists beyond three full cycles, stop charging and check that the battery is seated flat with no raised edges — poor contact increases resistance further and raises heat output.
