Medion Life P4310 / MD98910 — 3.7V Li-ion Replacement Battery

This is a 3.7V, 1100mAh Li-ion cell for the Medion Life P4310 and MD98910 smartphones. It fits the original battery bay and connects via the stock connector. Use this when the original cell no longer holds a usable charge or has swollen beyond safe limits.

• Life P4310 and MD98910 compatibility: Both the P4310 and MD98910 share the same battery bay dimensions and 3.7V single-cell architecture, meaning one cell covers both variants without modification.
• Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through charge and discharge on the P4310 platform. The BMS accepted the cell on first connection, and the charge IC stepped through trickle, bulk, and top-off phases without fault flags.
• Fuel gauge recalibration on first use: On first use after installation, run one full discharge down to auto-shutoff, then charge uninterrupted to 100% before normal use. This lets the fuel gauge IC map its charge curve against the new cell before reporting accurate percentages.

Sudden shutdown at 20–30% on the replacement cell

The P4310's fuel gauge IC was calibrated to the discharge curve of the original, degraded cell. A new cell has a steeper voltage drop at the low end of its range. When the phone hits that cliff under modem or screen load, the voltage sags below the BMS cutoff threshold before the OS expects it, causing an abrupt shutdown. One full discharge-to-shutoff cycle lets the coulomb counter reset its endpoint reference. After that cycle, shutdowns below 30% should stop.

Phone feels warm near the battery on the first charge after fitting

A new, uncycled Li-ion cell has higher internal impedance than a broken-in cell. During the first bulk charge phase, the charge IC pushes current into that higher resistance, generating more heat than you would see on a conditioned cell. This is normal and typically resolves after two to three full cycles as the cell's impedance drops. If the back of the phone stays uncomfortably hot beyond the third charge, check that the replacement cell is seated flat and the contacts are not bent.
