Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

MetroPCS Anthem 4G / Bound / N910 — 3.8V Li-ion Replacement Battery
This 3.8V, 1950mAh (7.41Wh) lithium-ion cell replaces the original battery in the MetroPCS Anthem 4G, Bound, and ZTE N910. The original cell degrades over charge cycles, causing erratic shutdowns and false percentage readings. This replacement restores normal device operation at factory voltage.
- Anthem 4G, Bound, and N910 compatibility: All three models share the same battery bay dimensions (56.00 × 55.50 × 5.00mm), connector pinout, and 3.8V nominal voltage rail. The BMS in each device communicates on the same charge IC protocol, so this cell seats and handshakes correctly across all three.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this cell through charge-discharge cycles on the N910 platform. The BMS accepted the cell without error codes, charge termination triggered correctly at full voltage, and the protection circuit responded to load spikes from the modem without tripping into lockout.
- Fuel gauge recalibration after install: On first use after installation, disable fast charging and run one full discharge-to-charge cycle. This lets the fuel gauge IC map its coulomb counter against the new cell's actual discharge curve before high-current charging begins on an uncalibrated cell.
Why the Anthem 4G reports wrong battery percentage after a cell swap
The fuel gauge IC stores a learned discharge curve from the original cell. When you swap in a new cell, the IC still references those old parameters. This causes the reported percentage to lag, jump, or bottom out early — even though the physical cell has charge remaining. One complete discharge cycle from 100% down to automatic shutoff, followed by a full uninterrupted charge, forces the IC to rewrite its reference curve against the new cell's actual behaviour.
Sudden shutdown at 20–30% on the replacement cell
This is a voltage cliff, not a capacity problem. Under the combined load of the modem radio and screen, cell voltage can sag below the BMS cutoff threshold — typically around 3.2V — even while the fuel gauge still reads 20–30%. The phone shuts down to protect the cell before the IC registers the drop. Let the device cool for two minutes, then power back on — if it boots and immediately shows a low percentage, the fuel gauge IC has not yet recalibrated. Run one full discharge-charge cycle to correct the reference baseline.

Frequently Asked Questions
My Anthem 4G won't turn on after the new battery sat in a drawer for a few months — is it dead?
Likely not dead — the BMS has entered lockout because the cell voltage dropped below 2.5V during storage. Plug in the original charger and leave it connected for at least 20 minutes before attempting to power on. The charge IC needs to trickle current into the cell long enough to bring voltage above the BMS recovery threshold before normal charging can begin. If the device still shows no sign of life after 30 minutes on charge, try a different USB cable and confirm the wall adapter is delivering at least 5V.
The phone feels noticeably warm near the battery while charging — is something wrong with the new cell?
Mild warmth during the first few charge cycles on a new cell is normal. A fresh high-impedance cell creates more resistive heating as the charge IC pushes current through it, compared to a worn cell it was calibrated to run. If surface temperature stays below approximately 40°C and drops off after the first two or three full charges, no action is needed. If the phone becomes hot to hold or charge current does not taper toward the end of a cycle, remove it from charge and inspect the battery contacts for debris or misalignment.
Fast charging stopped working after I swapped the battery — the phone just charges slowly now?
On the first cycle after a cell swap, the charge IC may not negotiate the fast-charge protocol while the BMS on the new cell is being characterised. This is expected behaviour — slow charging on the first cycle is a protection measure, not a fault. Complete one full slow charge from near-empty to 100% without interruption. On the next charge cycle, fast charging typically resumes once the IC has logged a complete reference cycle against the new cell.
